On your Nexus 6P comments, for someone that hadn't had a device with a fingerprint sensor before I feel the 6P's was placed in a natural location when holding the phone. I also like that you don't need to click any buttons to activate the phone before it unlocks.

It's certainly not uncomfortable to us when holding but far less convenient when using the phone without being held. I very often using it while on a flat surface or in a dock in my car. Smart lock eliminates the need to use it to unlock but I still have to turn on the screen, either by physically moving the phone and swiping to unlock or hitting the power button on the side, both especially troublesome when docked.

I also find it less than optimal when using tap to pay as my hand further up underneath the device usually means it's bumping the terminal. But considering my bank doesn't yet support Android Pay, not an immediate problem. ;)

Received my 6P yesterday and just starting to get reacquainted with it. I realize this is mostly old news since it's been out for 6 months but as a regular iPhone user who hasn't spend significant time on Android (still have Nexus 7 that's the living room media tablet) over the past couple years, thought I'd share my experience from that perspective. My very early first impressions as I slowly start setting it up--literally just things I've immediately noticed so far:

- Feel in hand is nice. It very nearly the same size as my 6s+ so it feel perfectly comfortable to hold. Not a big fan of button placement on right side...would prefer volume on other side but that's just me, and certainly not a big issue.

- Finger print sensor is very quick and love being able to unlock phone with just a touch vs. the home button click on the iPhone BUT, really not a fan of the having it on the back...at all. Smart Lock is a nice way to avoid this inconvenience much of the time but on it's own, don't like the position at all.

- Display seems quite nice--vibrant and bright. Colors may be a touch on the oversaturated side but I honestly don't mind or really notice display differences unless i'm comparing side-by-side and even then, guess I just don't have super high standards. It's nice..my iPhone display seems nice too and can happily live with either one.

- Haven't used the camera yet and probably won't until I spend some serious time getting it configured that way i like, apps installed, etc.

Won't comment on usability much as that's really an Android thing and not really the ideal place for that discussion in this thread but rather something for the iOS vs. Android conversation. I already notice I'm going to have to make some changes to my typical usage and workflow but I never expected it to be the same...that's the point.

I'm also seriously contemplating picking up an Android Wear smartwatch as I realize how much I've come to rely and on and enjoy the functionality offered by my Apple Watch. Initial research on the current crop of devices is leaving me generally unimpressed though.

I'm not thrilled with the fp sensor either, although I must say it's VERY fast. My main gripe isn't with the fp sensor, but rather how the system uses it. If I have it set for fp security, but have smartlock turn security off, I still have to swipe the screen. This seems a bit idiotic and redundant. I wish there was a way to have smartlock disable the fp sensor but have the phone turn on with no user input other than pressing a button. When I'm out of smartlock then the fp sensor kicks in.

Completely agree. I guess I'm spoiled but it's annoying to have to reach for the small power button on the side while the phone is on a flat surface, and then have to swipe the screen. And why isn't the double tap to wake feature available without root? That would somewhat mitigate this annoyance.

I think right now HTC has the optimal setup with the capacitive home button on the front. Just my preference of course.

Just give it a nudge, ambient display turns on, swipe.

In my short time with it, takes more than a nudge. If that's all that was needed, I'd deal but then having to swipe is a P.I.T.A. On an iPhone, HTC 10, or any Samsung device, it's placement of thumb and go. Yes, first world problem but it was enough of a nuisance to quickly catch my attention.

Anyone want to trade a black 6p for a silver 6p? The silver is very nice, but not quite my cup of tea.

Traded my 128GB 6S+ for a 128GB silver 6P yesterday. So far so good. Animations are very laggy though, even when turned to 0.5x. Havent used Android in over 5 years. Still remembering what I can. A lot of games are extremely choppy as heck. Is this a known issue? Battery is terrible too. What did i get myself into?

That's doesn't sound normal and I hope you got money your way as that was a really poor swap resale value wise.

Did you do a full factory reset? Install the latest updates?

Honestly 6P is rough for gaming. The Snapdragon 810 gets throttled significantly after some time to deal with heat issues. All that eats the battery like crazy and causes instability overall.

Outside of gaming is should be pretty smooth. And yes, I do hope you were able to get something else in that trade. 6P is worth about half as much as the 6S+.

When you say laggy, are you referring to the amount of time it takes to launch an app or the stutters as in frame drops. You really shouldn't be experiencing much of either. Games can lag a sec to launch but outside of that, you should be good.

That doesn't sound good for me. I was planning to pickup the 6P later this year.

Sold my S6 yesterday & picked up a 32GB Graphite 6P, the problem with the S6 was it signal it was terrible was hardly getting anything better than H here at home & would only get a decent 4G signal in strong area's, now with the 6P I'm getting constant 4G at home.

Also after reading all the horror stories about build quality, I was slightly reluctant at first in getting one but I'm glad to say my 6P doesn't have any build quality issues at all after I did an initial OCD inspection on it.

Lag wise I haven't noticed any it's buttery smooth, but i did clear the cache once it completed all the updates though.

Nice phone keep me happy for the rest of the year I think, plus it be the first with Android N aswell. :)

While the 6P is nice. I find its a tab to big for my liking. The 5X is perfect and will be looking to sell off my 6S Plus for it. Only thing that might bother me is the FP on the back.

Yeah that's my issue with the 6p, it's a much larger phone than it needs to be. I still like it, but anytime it's next to my Note 5 I realize that I'm carrying around a lot of unnecessary bulk.

Dual Front Speakers!

Yes indeed I'd be remiss if I failed to mention just how much I enjoy these high quality, well placed speakers on my Nexus 6P.

Oh sure I also use a headset, as well as Bluetooth External Speakers. But for the times I dont have those with me, the well thought out built in speakers are exceptional.

Great deal! All colors and storage options, unlocked, $80 bucks off across the board.

Great time to pick up a 6P right now. Free shipping too.

[Deal Alert] Best Buy Is Taking $80 Off All Nexus 6P Variants: 32GB For $420, 64GB For $470, And 128GB For $570

Not a bad deal, but this is still not the best time to pick up a 6P, that will be in late August when they slash the pricing big time to dump stock, in wake of the upcoming next gen Nexus phones. I say by late Aug / early Sept the Nexus 6P will be selling for like $349, maybe even down to $299. They do it every year, last Sept the Motorola Nexus 6 dropped form the original $650 to $299.
