No, I'm saying they want to hire more people and there aren't enough qualified candidates. That's why we have the whole H1B Visa issue. But let's continue to pretend they're hiring for some future expansion and not because they know they need more people.
Surely in some specific fields it's hard to find qualified people

You guys know a bug that needs to get right away? When Apple prompts you to enter your iCloud password. Totally gets in the way while you're driving... Or how the screen is unresponsive during an animation.

You're not supposed to be using your phone while driving. It leads to distractions and accidents. Nothing should be changed here. If at all, phone makers should collaborate with car manufacturers to detect when a driver is trying to use the phone, and disable it with a message on the screen to "look at the freakin road or pull over!"

Whilst i agree to an extent....what about the numerous sat nav apps and the fact Apple built sat nav options into their own Apple maps?

Surely its an issue if someone is using them and something pops up over the directions.

I was using driving a car as an example. I will get prompted up with a window telling me to put my password in for iCloud. It happens at any inconvenient time.

And let's be real here, everyone uses their phones on the road. Don't even say that you guys don't.

I understand your point, but most car navigation systems (100% of the ones in any car I've owned) disables any interaction for BT setup, starting/stopping navigation routes, and configuring the system in general while the car is moving, regardless of whether the interaction is being managed/controlled by anyone - driver or passenger. In order to initiate any interaction, the driver must stop the car's movement. Some even require that the transmission be put in "park" (but not all do this).

How should any cellular/mobile phone differ from this restriction?

Why are you getting password prompts?

I will say the quality of software really started to decline once Craig Federighi took over the VP position. He seems like a genuinely nice and outgoing person, the exact opposite of someone who should be helming such a critical department at Apple. I don't think he was ready for the job considering how abrupt and untimely Scott Forstall's ousting was. We need more people at Apple who share a similar personality to Jobs like Scott: ruthless, obsessive, tyrannical but with all the best intentions to do the best quality work imaginable. Tim Cook is more focused on "collaboration" but I'm sorry, that's why quality control is down. Sometimes you need to have a decent amount of tension and work with people who aren't necessarily going to play nice with others.

That being said, as long the current Federighi/Ive software regime remains in place, the quality of software will not improve. When it comes to the people who made Apple software a hallmark feature were either made into a scapegoat and terminated (Forstall) or essentially forced to quit after calling out Jony on his terrible UI (Greg Christie).

The more Apple grows, the more they will essentially turn into Microsoft. I don't want that and neither should any of you here and if you are content with that, you're part of the problem.

It's no secret that most people who come here put iOS under a microscope but some less than others. I can tolerate some bugs but nothing critical like phone restarts or the inability to use core features like making a call, sending a text. Do I care that the music app has icons that are not spaced properly? not really.
You may not care, and clearly Apple doesn't care about all the little interface bugs and such. But there are still some of us who want to hold Apple to the same standards they use to hold themselves to.

And yes I'm about to say this.....Steve Jobs would look at some of this and probably hurl his iPad at the wall if he saw how many annoying interface glitches there are all over the place, specifically in Music on iPad. Ill point you to three that are eyesores below.

That's definitely true, but 6 months is very easily enough time to fix some of the small but obvious problems like that one. If complexity is a problem and iOS development is going out of control or the OS growing larger than it can be fixed, maybe development time should be growing in proportion to that. And no, I didn't say developer count. I said time for anyone who was saying Apple can't afford it.

Why does Apple feel the need to do a new iOS version every year? Before iOS really came into its own, OS X was updated every two years or so, not annually which meant that each version had more time to be developed and refined.

Why can't the same be done for iOS? Just do point releases in between and release a completely brand new iOS every other year.

What's the problem with a mature and established company like Microsoft that peoduces many products that are used by many people throughout the world?

The status bar bleeding into the album artwork on the Now Playing screen looks like another horrible and overlooked bug within the music app but unfortunately and idiotically, it's part of the design.

There shouldn't be any restriction on anything cell phone related. My car Nav system disables a bunch of things while in motion. My phone shouldn't be one of them; sad to say.

I don't see quality down any further than antenna gate. I see profits up, TC being well liked. Blockbuster quarters. Great hardware and software being produced.

If that is part of the problem, your expectations are going to have to be realigned because consumers such as myself are buying the new Apple.

Federighi/Ive aren't going anywhere except on their own volition.

I know many don't like it but its clearly a design choice. And thats subjective. What I'm (and others) are trying to point out are clear interface bugs.

And honestly I think the music app on the iPhone is really well done, but like many apps on iPad its been kind of half-a$$ed.

For what its worth i dont use my phone whilst driving....phone is plugged into car stereo set up via built in USB port so i access music via stereo and connected to bluetooth for phone calls. In fact its generally tucked away in a cup holder between the seats.

Plus neither on my iPhone 5 or the new 6S i have had since January have i received prompts for my iCloud password unless i've done something to require it.

The problem with it is that it obstructs the content, a clear violation of Apple's very own GUI guidelines and it's not like the status bar is completely legible anyways so why even bother keeping on? The least they could've done is let you tap on the album art to make it go away. I wanna be able to be able to see my album art without obstruction, kinda like this, simple clean and elegant as hell:

What about bendgate? Conveniently ignoring that because of your boy Timmy?

Apple is not Microsoft and they shouldn't aspire to be but they they've been going about their products and business is definitely reminiscent of Microsoft in the 2000s just as Microsoft now is starting to evoke the Apple of the 2000s. Amazing how the tables have turned...

Since Apple can't do "any wrong in my eyes" I believe the reverse is true it can't do any right in your eyes.

What do you want to play, which ceo made the worst mistakes? What about mapgate and antennagate from your boy Stevey(may he rest in peace).

I agree, it's hideous. The status should be slid underneath the album bar and should only show up when you pull the tab down.

Although it's an actual bug too, the status bar continues to stay there even when you're in the app switcher.

If you think it looks fine, then you have no taste in design.

Taste IS subjective, but bigs are not. But apparently they are now in the eyes of Apple. I'll direct everyone to John Grubers podcast where Craig said the reason people are experiencing more bug is because they use their phones for so many things.........
