Sorry dude, but with the Macbooks having just been updated, I really can't see them sticking SR into them before at least late August/September for 'back to school'.
Its really disappointing that they didn't do something about the GMA950 in the most recent upgrade.
But you have to ask yourself, what are you going to use your computer for, and would you really benefit a huge amount from having dedicated graphics?
Yes, I agree. If you don't require heavy-duty 3D graphics, the GMA950 will handle 2D graphics pretty well.
I don't know about another update soon, however. Personally, I believe the last Macbook update was the refresh for the back to school season. I think the next (Macbook) update would come during the fall, at or soon after the release of Leopard, which would be just about right timing for the holiday season sale period. We'll have to wait and see when and what happens exactly with those updates tho'.
Meanwhile, the "old models" of the Macbooks are a pretty deal. The refurbished 2.0Ghz Macbooks are selling now for $999 for the white model, and $1049 for the black version, both w/1GB RAM and superdrive. The old model 1.8GHz white Macbook w/512MB RAM and combo drive is somewhat less. The refurbished Macbook do seem to disappear very quickly from the refurb store however -- you have to grab them early in the AM if you want one.
