Best is an odd thing to declare when it comes to displays. It's relative and preference as much as it is calibration observations.
G3 screen is a prime example. Supposedly great but I am not impressed. I actually prefer the S5 or even the 5S.
Have found an app that does this without root and works well but not for every app. Also wanted to enable multi instance with whatsapp so I can have two conversations simultaneously in two windows but it just crashes the app.
My only issue with rooting is that some of the apps I use don't allow a rooted phone - skygo, banking apps. Is there a way around this? It's very easy to root, and then you just install Xposed which is pretty incredible at letting you customize every single nut and bolt in android.

Sounds good, will look into it!You can get an Xposed module called Rootcloak, works very nicely and hides your root from apps.
One app I wish multi window worked with and that's Tapatalk. I'm use this all the time.
I have read every post on this thread and im still on the fence! I guess I'm just too indecisive.

Has anyone talked about the above? Seems like a huge deal to me!

And that really is the issue for me. Android and iOS have copied each other to the point that they are so close in functionality. Coupled with the fact that my phones have been android for over a year, my tablets are ios, and my desktops are windows, I don't have an Eco system im more invested in than another.Honestly, it really comes down to iOS vs Android/TouchWiz.....
Specs-wise we can sit here and talk about bigger numbers or display reviews....but ultimately both devices are powerhouses and at the top of their market.
For me (I've used Android for the better part of the last 2 years), it boiled down to what my friends and family use. Things like iMessage, FaceTime, PhotoStreams, AirDrop etc are all invaluable to me because those with whom I communicate and share most are all iOS users.
Couple that with my familiarity with iOS and my penchant for clean, cohesive design and the iPhone ultimately won out.
That's not to say I won't try out Android again. I still have my Nexus 5 and I'm really looking forward to doing a side-by-side when my brother-in-law gets his Note 4.
But ultimately, when it boils down to it, I don't get any more functionality out of Android than I do iOS. So its all about HOW I go about achieving tasks. iOS just works better for me.
You really should try them each out.
Yah the Gear VR is a huge reason to get the N4. Yes it's a gimmick, I'm not saying it's going to change the world. But hey there is nothing wrong with playing games and having fun. I've tried the Google cardboard project with my Note 3 and for a freakin piece of cardboard was thoroughly impressed, I can't wait to get a piece of hardware specifically designed for this.
If you are heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem then I think the iphone is the best device for you. My family and friends are mixed between android and iOS, however even the ios users use other messaging apps like what's app and BBM. The only person who insists on using imessages is my mum. However now that my cousin who uses an android phone has gone travelling around Australia and New Zealand for three months, so we've made my mum download what's app and are getting her to use it so she can communicate with my cousin whilst she's away. So imessages doesn't hold that much sway with me.Honestly, it really comes down to iOS vs Android/TouchWiz.....

Out of curiousity, what dept did you work in at best buy? I have a buddy who manages a store up in Canada. It's really a different store up there! Customers can actually haggle prices up there a bit lol.
Did you get the iPhone 6?

I won't say it's a gimmick. It's incredibley useful! It really enhances how you experience your media in a way that has not been changed since 3D televisions first became available.
Some people consider 3d on tvs to be a gimmick. As someone who wasn't quite sold on the tech, when I got my smart tv and it was bundled, watching avatar in 3d changed my mind.
Content submersion, for me, is as important and content creation. Movies and film, photos, are a tool we use to tell stories or experience important times of our lives. Being able to feel like I'm reliving a moment in time vs simply watching it, is a big deal.

I've been on the fence and go back and forth. I really want the iPhone for the features that will work with my Macs and for the camera (I hate my Note 2 and now Note 3 cameras), though I just can not give up widgets and the ability to tether.
I am going to wait to see if the Note4 truly has an improved camera, not just on paper, but in actual use. I do not want anymore blurry and grainy, shots....
I spent a bunch of time on the phone with Verizon. My iPhone tethering options with my VZW unlimited data plan are the following:
1. jailbreak, which is not available, and I am not sure how I feel about installing a jailbreak that someone else wrote on my phone
2. pay VZW $30 more a month for 2GB of hotspot and this will ELIMINATE my unlimited data....it simply makes no sense, but I spoke with two people about this

Could very well just be the same ISOCELL camera found in the S5, but paired with OIS, which would give it a littttle boost.
The S5 has a great camera in shots with good light. The OIS will help in Low light, which should give it an all round good camera. The S5 camera is streets ahead of the camera on the note 3.
I don't know why you're trying to give the impression that its a terrible camera.
1. How is the S5 camera with low light? By low light I am not referring to the complete absence of light or even being dark, just not brightly lit. My Note3 has just been absolutely terrible unless I'm outside with enough sunlight...

2. It sounds like you have experience with both the S5 and Note3 cameras? If so, what makes the S5 camera "streets" ahead of the Note3 cam? I'm curious to hear what you have to say being that you may have experience with both phones...I still am at a complete loss when I read people discussing how wonderful the Note3 camera is..
Is the iphone 6+ camera that good in low light? Because the review I saw comparing s5, ip6 and ip6+ rated the S5 best in low light. It also showed that the ios on the ip6+ made no difference compared to regular ip6I'm disappointed to hear about the S5 cam, because I think the Note4 uses the same one with some updated software...
I take tons and tons of pics and videos of my newborn and use my phone because it is always with me. Can't tell you how many great pics I could have taken that ended up being worthless once looking at them. I have a fancy video cam and DSLR that I started keeping close by because the Note3 is so awful in the house without good lighting, however this is not always practical and I can't take them when I'm on the go...if the Note4 cam sucks, I might have to give up tethering and get the iPhone6+ just for the better cam...
