This phone still isn't out, and they are still making up excuses? Looks like they are trying to build more and more phones, and don't want to publicly say they don't have enough ready to sell.

Well according to new post on their forum, the delays are logistics and not having stock, yields etc.. - nothing to do with Cyanogenmod.

They still refuse to talk numbers but that June goal is well and truly history now.

Bascially they haven't a clue how many devices they can make.

What a ****king joke

I run a small business, and yes having too much supply can be an issue, but also not having enough supply in stock, is far worse issue. Then customers just go elsewhere to buy a different product, they won't wait, and get frustrated thinking they can't count on you, will turn away for good, never come back.

And enough of blaming everyone but themselves, that's a *****tty attitude.

How could they not know, to at least have enough supply to cover the amount of forum members they have ? If they had 100,000 forum members, that's a good guess, that at least that amount or close to that number, will want to buy the phone. But instead they only make like 2,000 at first  Not even 2% of their customer base.

I think OnePlus might be a kickstarter program, total scam.

A Few Words on Production Capacity
http://forums.oneplus.net/threads/a-few-words-on-production-capacity.39999/

Before announcing the One on April 23, we didn't anticipate this type of demand.

Yeah a flagship spec'd super phone, selling for only $299, wasn't going to attract high demand ? What a frigging joke of an excuse

----------

OnePlus has maybe 3 or 4 months to get this disaster fixed, and supply issues behind them, if they want to become a successful company, and not another small business that bites the dust right away.

By October, Google will announce the next generation Asus made Nexus-Six, which will have better / newer hardware than the OnePlus, but sell for close to the same bargain price point. Once Asus releases the Nexus-Six, the OnePlus sales are done.

yes...they say there is one born every minute.....

Ebookreader seems to be one of them...lol, he keeps posting specs and talking it up.

Hey, im going to build a car that gets 200 miles per gallon and has 300 HP engine and all the latest technology and only costs $10,000.

Send me pics of you doing headstands while looking up celebs dresses without getting your butt kicked or just smash your current phone on a red carpet event on TV and maybe ill give you an invite.
Im sure there wont be much interest in a car like i plan on building :p

The hardware is old very soon now. Thus the price point to begin with. Built up hype, then wait to the hardware becomes cheaper. I would never support a company that does not deliver months after their own hype.

I wonder...what if this was the strategy all along...

IMHO, a lot of us are hate customers. We will hate, but the fact is the price is cheap and despite all the delays, some of us will still buy because where else can you get these specs for less than $300? (That is if these ever ship)

Its exactly how spirit airlines CEO described it, people will complain/ not be satisfied, but at the end of the day they are saving money and thats all they care about, thus will give them their business. (In reference to his company)

Just to be clear, I personally don't like this phone at all. I feel it is one of those situations where you get what you pay for...they will definitely cheap out on things like speaker and earpiece quality (some of the reviews even point this out), its a massive phone and warranty/support will always be an issue.

The only phone that can completely ruin this is if the nexus 6 is actually released, that would be the only flagship at around the same price, not to mention backed by a much larger company.

Better than the Nexus 5 and $50 cheaper too.

The problem is waiting until July/August when there will be plenty of invites available.

Right now, only about 10,000 invites have been given away.
The demand is 10-20-30 times more.

For me I'm going to purchase one with the money I get from selling my note 2. I'm also purchasing the note 4 on release day. So I will have a phone for flashing roms and playing around and my note 4 for my daily driver. Plus Samsung is getting really annoying with Knox and stuff so I will use the One Plus to supplement rooting and such to save my warranty.

I know I'm alone in I'm fine with waiting since my note 2 still works. But One plus is starting to get annoying as they are angering potential customers and that is never a good thing .

Yep. Chances are you'll see the note 4 before the OPO.

@davids just made an announcement and it was as vague as the rest. Plenty of talk but not actually said, and of course the picture of the dog who got a phone before everyone else, just to stir the pot...

I'm an early member, well known status, have nearly 700 likes .... I'm still not optimistic about ever getting an invite, and what irritates me most is the feigned praise people are lavishing on them no matter what drivel they post, which is foolishly aimed at getting an invite (never say anything bad - it may get us an invite).... It so insincere.

I'm growing increasingly tired of the excuses, and the expectation that I must 'earn' the right to pay them my hard earned money to buy their product....

I'm giving it two more weeks and forget about it. The price isn't even a factor for me, I just thought a device with both onscreen and off screen buttons would allow me to test and optimise my mobile content. But it's getting too frustrating now, and the joke they are making out of folks, is wearing thin.

Am I reading this right MRU, does one have to get an invite to buy a phone? If I ever have to be invited and made to feel special and privileged because I had been "invited" to buy a company's product then TBH, they can shove it.

They can invite me for breakfast, lunch or diner but I buy when I want or need to and if any company thinks that I'll be waiting for an invite to give them my hard earned money they can find a lake and jump in it.

If someone here ever gets an invitation or buys the phone please send me one invite. Considering the low price I might still buy the OnePlus One, despite its flaws.

OnePlus flaw: The demand for their phone is much greater than supply. They can't make them fast enough. Therefore, people who want to buy it have to wait or get lucky with a contest (1 out of 50 odd of winning an invite with their latest contest).

OnePlus underestimated the demand like Google/LG did with the Nexus 4. As a result, people can't buy the Nexus 4 in the 3-4 months following its release (November, December, January and early February).

Google/LG learned that lesson. Nexus 5 was released without a hitch. Hopefully OnePlus will learn the lesson when the OnePlus Two come out. MUCH MUCH MORE SUPPLY.

Oneplus advantage: A flagship smartphone on par with Galaxy S5 but at half the price.

People who want to buy it right away = not happy
People who don't mind waiting until supply catch up = no effect

I don't need a new smartphone right away and the OnePlus is a bargain so I don't mind waiting.

Looks like OnePlus might be headed into the next phase of their failure.

In an earlier post I wrote wondering what their support will be like, given how well their rollout is going. Well...now it seems some users are reporting screen issues - with OP replying that the yellow tint reported is a) a feature b) not happening because those reporting it are faking it using Photoshop. So they're saying both these things...at the same time....

And this while the Oppo 7 apparently had the same issues, with Oppo admitting it and sending out replacements.

Where is this going to end?? :(

By the time anyone recieves a OPO, the new Lumia 930 will be out well before and the next Nexus or whatever it is going to be called will be announced along with the Moto X1 and others and the new iPhone will be around the corner at that time.

Not been in here for a while but seems I still can't buy this thing if I wanted?! How many months and excuses can one conjure up?

As anticipated, they employed a team of designers but completely forgot about logistics and supply chain management. And the less said about the 'marketing team', the better.

Stuck in customs because of regulatory issues? Low yields on component parts? It does feel like a company run by designers doing everything, hence the rather obvious failings.

They tried to get too big, too shouty, too soon and couldn't deliver. Now they look rather silly, dishonest and incompetent.

This really is a whole new level of fail.

Eventually it will be available I guess, I'm sure you will be able to get one soon on eBay in the flip market.

This kind of bs reminds me of the early days in the pavorizer mods (ecigs) everything limited and you had to be rushing to sign on a list or else wait for several months or buy in the flip market.

I read the guys long post. I knew this OnePlus One was too good to be true. The price alone was too good. How would you underestimate supply when you are offering a top of line spec device off contract for 299. Hell, even people that don't like Android would have made an impulse buy for that price.

I am so over that company. Pretty ridiculous what happened to him though.

Read this ...

http://forums.oneplus.net/threads/why-i-will-no-longer-support-oneplus-warning-very-long.45332/

OPO have already prevented it from getting into the recent archive and are doing all they can to restrict its visibility. Read before it's gone for good. It is a long post, but very interesting read from a supported from the very outset.

Thanks for sharing the link for us MRU......
I read the whole post and then some of the responses. It was quite revealing that some people just didn't get what he wrote. They were still in OPO support mode not wanting to sound negative incase it might cost them an invite. There really is one born every minute........
