Guys wtf lol don't tell still trying to buy this phone ? And notice the word BUY probably the first company I've seen making it hard for people to give out their money.

This phone is more marketing than anything, I doubt it will ever be widely available.

I saw a post OnePlus made on Facebook yesterday where they showed a picture of a dog receiving a OnePlus in the mail, and getting ready to "unbox" it. There was a hilarious wave of comments that ensued with people telling OnePlus how much they appreciate that a dog can get an invite and they can't lol. I think their marketing is starting to work against them, some of the stuff they do on social media to promote is just weird, the above being an example.

Lol. This phone still isn't out yet? I think their marketing backfired and they weren't expected so much hype. It's clear they weren't ready to handle it.

I guess I spoke to soon. It's available to order now for $389 (16GB). These aren't preorders.

You're right! It will only let you buy the White 16GB for $389. That is almost $100 more. It comes with ColorOS the same as all OPPO phones....very interesting. Just shows that OPPO is really behind OnePlusOne all along......
They are saying Cyanogen as the reason it it not available for the masses....

Because of CyanogenMod is not ready for Oneplus One yet, so all phones installed Color OS now. You can update your phone with CyanogenMod ROM from Oneplus official site or CyanogenMod community a few days later.

Oh wow. They increased the price by $10, it's now $399 for a 16GB. Talk about greedy! Smh! Oppomart, that is.

So basically last day of 'race competition' and they had people jumping through hoops once more ... Having to create a youtube video.

They also announced they will have a pre-order system in the future but the earliest that will be in place is Q3 and more likely Q4. This only for a pre-order system ... not actual device release ....

Seriously they have completely missed the boat.

Nexus 6 (possibly) , LG G3 805, S5 Prime, iPhone 6 4.7, iPhone 5.5, Moto X+1, Note 4 ......... All will likely available to buy before this 'flagship killer'.....

The only thing killed is their forum users hope ....

Even if these phones eventually do become available to the general public, I hate to think what their shipping/returns and support will be like...

Also LOL "flagship killer", by the time these things come out in numbers surpassing the 100s, there will already be a legion of new phones on the horizon which will soon land and just destroy these re-skinned Oppo phones :D

I think somewhere right now a chinese businessman is sitting in his office with a big lump in his throat, starting to choke on his bright idea.

Totally agree Jamezr

Just on principle alone I will not purchase the One+ One, as much as I may want it, but no ***** way due to their elitist snobby attitude. LOL, an invite system :( Get the F outta here.

Did no one at that company ever take a basic Business 101 or Economic class ?

What was this company smoking, knowing they had such a small tiny supply of phones to sell at launch originally ?

They didn't anticipate a major backlash and upset potential customers ?

Why not wait until they at least had a rough ballpark of like 75,000 phones in production, enough to cover all the people on the e-mail list, and then announce the phone, and put up a commercial website to purchase the phone, and not all the BS invite crap ?

Just got this e-mail from the OnePlus team;

Storm of Invites

Dear OnePlus fans,

What we are about to announce has been brewing for weeks now, but now the time has finally come: The Storm of Invites is here! We are giving out 2,500 invites plus a free phone!

All you have to do is go to the Storm of Invites page, log in with your email/Facebook account and complete as many of the tasks as you want. However, the more tasks you complete, the better your chances will be. For more details, see our post in the forums!

Are you ready for the Storm?

F off, that ship has already sailed for me  I shouldn't have to compete tasks and jump through hopes, to get in line to buy your product.

You'd get eaten alive if you said something so sensible on their forum ....

That e-mail today, just pisses me off even more, doesn't make me want the phone, makes me think, screw off OnePlus, you guys failed miserably on marketing this good phone.

I mean wow, WTF are they thinking here ?

At this point the LG G3 is way cooler for a 5.5" smartphone, same size screen, in a much smaller footprint, great battery life on the G3, and give it two months after release, the G3 will be on bargain sale from the carriers.
