How can you have over a day of battery life with screen time yet it is claiming it has 50% screen time out of your 1 day and 7hrs of usage. Looks like you connected it to your computer every now and then, which charged your phone ever so slightly without resetting the counter. Unless it really isn't able to count :)

Something is off I think.

I would NEVER play games with battery lies, NEVER. That's not the way I roll. I am very honest on battery life on my phone, most have sucked usually.

I did NOT plug my phone in at all that time for 31 hours.

The 50% means that it is responsible for 50% of the draining of the battery

As much as I like the OPO and still recommend people seriously consider it, that article could be written about most flagships with decent justification as to why one phone is better for a person's needs compared to another.

I could put out a similar piece why the New Note is everything my OnePlus isn't, citing a digitizer, SD slot, OIS, dual SIM, and so on. But that's just my current needs.

6, 6+, OPO, Note 4, S5, Alpha, Z3, Nexus 6, M8, G3, X1, Mi4, MX4, and plenty more could be argued against any other.

I'm just glad there's a ton of excellent phones making it easy to find one for almost any specific need or preference.

The biggest problem I find is justifying which ones not to buy.

I like the new Note, still like and have the OPO, and still like and have the 5S. We're truly spoilt for choice.

except for the fact that OnePlus One can be purchased in Western Market for half the price compared to the other flagships.

One MAJOR difference with all those other phones you listed. They sell for at least $650 off contract, up to $900  The OnePlus One is only $349, half the price as those others, and IMO, every bit as good, not a cheap wannabe knockoff.

Both true except I feel the article is more about finding the features of the OPO more suitable to the iPhone rather than just comparing price, although price is a clear factor in most buying decisions.

However, do note my mentioning of the Mi4 ($369) and MX4 ($449) which are again both justifiable as great phones from a feature/spec and price perspective. And having used both the Mi4 and MX4 they are anything but cheap and knockoff.

Even if it was a pure price argument, it's possible for me to justify the more expensive Note 4 because of the stylus for note-taking, removable battery, OIS, larger and higher res screen, multi windows, etc. For my needs it is worth the extra money.

Others would quitea rightly prefer a 6 or 6+, or an Alpha, OPO, and so on, for their wants and needs.

As I said, it's great we have rising stars like OnePlus, Xiaomi, OPPO, Meizu, and others to bring more choice to the table.

Xiaomi doesn't sell the Mi4 and MX4 in Western markets.

Lots of invites in November

If 500,000 phones sold in August, September, October, that will be 1,500,000 invites going out in November.

https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/invites-in-november.162053/

We've ramped up production month by month to meet the seemingly unquenchable demand for the OnePlus One.

Contrary to popular belief, invites are not dead in a post pre-order world. However, since most of you have already purchased a device, the invites focus again shifts to shareables. This month, all customers who purchased the phone in August, September, and October will receive 3 shareable invites lasting 7 days. It’s a tall task and we've upped our production yet again to keep up with the demand. Secondly, all forum members up to at least 320K forum member number will receive 1 day individual invites.

Invite

If anyone has a spare invite, could you please share it with me.

I plan on sharing my invites with other MR users once I get my hands on them. :)

IRL: The OnePlus One is everything my iPhone wasn't
http://www.engadget.com/2014/10/30/irl-oneplus-one/

Interesting write up, on an iPhone guy, breaking his iPhone 5S, and was gonna order a new iPhone 6, but had a demo test unit OnePlus One, and was forced to use that right away, as he needed a phone.

Long story short, he grew to love the phone, and cancelled his iPhone 6 :D

they haven't sent them out yet.

When invites are plentiful, there will be a lot of threads with "invites to share" in their forum. So far, nothing yet.

https://forums.oneplus.net/forums/invites/

... I know. But people there seem to be begging for invites.

And it would be sweeter to get one from someone in the MR community.

Again if anyone here gets a spare invite in the future, send it over. I will greatly appreciate it and will share my future invites with other users on MR.

Invites, anyone?

If anyone has an invite, I would be very grateful if you gave it to me. :)

If and when I get an extra one, I will make sure (top priority here) to give it to someone on MR.

I barely missed the mark for the 320K invite handout.

Thank you. :)

As a side note: Could the phones go on sale for the Christmas Holiday season? I might be grasping for strings, though.

a better place
Supply still has not catch up to demand yet. They are still scaling according to the New York Times article.

up to a million devices a month over all

It took Xiaomi a while to scale too

2012: 7.19 million
2013: 18.7 million
2014: 60 million will be reached easily
2015: projected 100 million+

This pre-order for 1 hour sounds a lot like a FLASH SALE that Xiaomi is famous for.

Really ... They are up to 1 million per month ?

http://www.androidcentral.com/onepl...2014?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=pulsenews

They are up to 500,000 total since release. 1 million per month

Haha, thats what I read as well. And they are making less than $10 profit per phone sale. But, if they do sell 1,million of them, that's some good profit though. It isn't Apple profit but we know Apple phones costs more than twice as much .

I thought I read a while ago the true build costs for each phone, and the iPhone was like $250 for Apple to produce, and the Galaxy S5 like $225, these are not exacts costs. And they retail off contract for like $650, making like $400 per phone. Let's say the iPhone 5S sold in one year like 80 million iPhone 5S's, they would have made like $32 billion ?

So let's say the OnePlus costs around $200 to build, and they sell them for $300 to $350, making $100 / $150 per phone. So selling 500,000 phones at $100 profit they could have made like $50 million possibly.

You're forgetting marketing, R&D, and all the other costs that go into these phones outside of just the components.

Well they haven't paid for any ads and as for R&D its basically a tweaked Oppo Find 7.
