That is the i million dollar question. OPO really seems to be an arrogant firm from the top down. They can fix the issues with the OPO3 very easily with a software update.....but if they won't even acknowledge their is a problem....then it does not bode well for a timely update to fix things! :)
Yep.

Given they've already started aggressively censoring and removing posts / threads and even deleting users over on the forum who are questioning this issue and are leaving the usual blind fanboy responses who are barking the Carl Pei rhetoric mantra (parrot fashion) says enough about their philosophy and stance and willingness to admit when they FUBAR.

I honestly would be more surprised by an official fix than i would be shocked that there wasn't one.

Whilst I understand Pei has loyalty and backs his own product, he does come across as a very prickly individual.

Maybe Anand got a duff unit. Maybe not. However, a 1080p Pentile display at 5.5 inches might not have been the best choice. Sure, a lot of users will only ever see the display in isolation so it won't register and eyes do adjust somewhat.

I'm prepared to wait for more user reviews about the screen on here and by someone like Erica Griffin who commented on it in her first impressions.

If it's anything like the blue Nexus 6, then I'll be leaving it for sure.

I would take anything over OnePlus' LCD display. I once watched some TV shows on a friend's OnePlus One and the saturation was awful, and it hurt my eyes. Also, it couldn't cope with sunlight.

I was curious if Anandtech just got a bad device:
http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/OnePlus-3-Review_id4214

But they still give it an 8.7 overall.
My co-worker got a OP3 today, and I am scratching my head about their comment in regards to the display. Now, I've had a crap load of phones, but one of the worst displays is a bit much! Hell, I like the OP3 display better than the horrible (IMO) amoled Nexus 6 display. Anandtech MUST have gotten a bad device or something.

Nice camera review from Droidlife.

For a $400 smartphone, the OnePlus 3 delivers a solid camera experience. To compare, I would say that it doesn’t quite match that of the Galaxy S7, Nexus 6P, or Galaxy Note 5, but the OnePlus 3 certainly holds its own against the LG G5 and HTC 10. Considering the phone just launched, it’s possible that with future software updates, we may even see a few improvements to the camera.

Nice response by the dev team. Either they were already working on that sRGB mode, or they have been pulling all nighters and Pei owes them more than a few pizzas :)

So I have a OPO3 on its way. Picked one up cheap from swappa. It should be here on Monday. I will update with my thoughts and a few camera pics when it gets here.
I know the CEO is brash and arrogant. But for the price the OPO3 seems to be a nice phone.
I am not sure I will stick to the stock OS. I will most likely go with CM13 on the OPO3.

Someone was departing with it very quick if they already put it on swappa ....

There are a ton of them on swappa! But then you can find just about any phone on swappa after it is released tbh :)

Takes much longer for them to land on our equivalent 'adverts.ie' .... I guess it's reflected in populace / scale. :)

I'm waiting for the supposed update to be pushed out to customer devices and if it does indeed fix the issues I may give it a shot ... By which time hopefully there will be second hand models on our classifieds site.

OnePlus has rolled out a 3.1.4 Oxygen OS update to the OnePlus 3 in order to address a few of the issues that early reviewers pointed out. The update, however, is only available for reviewer units at the moment.

Sounds like this will be a very nice fixpack!

I've checked swappa daily lately and never see it going under current cost. Why would I at this juncture to tell the truth, the buyer would just return it instead of taking a hit but I check just in case.

Be that as it may, I'll pick one up eventually when the price is right and everything pans out with software updates.

I paid full price but did not have to pay for shipping. I will also get it sooner (2 days) then if I ordered from OPO and it comes with a case. I just didn't want to wait :)

But can you return it?
Nope......can't return swappa purchases unless it was not as described or had damage of some sort that was not disclosed.
I hear what your saying though. I was just impatient and wanted it sooner :)

So it'll take at least a week to get here, apparently. Slightly disappointing especially since it was on priority shipping. But, I didn't have to pay for shipping either.

I think it's worth the wait, however. An iPhone 6s+ is twice the price and offers little much more hardware-wise. Even the software is a little boring. But an iPhone would have been a lot nicer, I think. But I haven't used an Android device before, so this will be a good experiment. And not an expensive one, at that!

Got the OPO3 just now.
Initial thoughts?
Wow.....very nice phone. Feels lot like the the S7e in the hand but of course no cured display. Thinner and lighter than my N5 and 6s+. I am restoring all my apps from Google right now. I will post back when I have had a chance to test it a little more. But so far it is very fast and very smooth phone.
