Mine (27", 3.4 i5, 1TB fusion, 16gb DDR4, UK keyboard with num pad) was ordered 7th June, changed to preparing for shipment on Friday and is set for delivery tomorrow, the 20th, on standard shipping. What's weird is that other UK orders seem to be coming from Ireland, whereas mine is currently in the Netherlands! Currently working on a mid 2011 iMac so can't wait for the new one to arrive.

i7 512GB SSD 27" ordered June 8th, shipped on June 14th and arrived yesterday, June 17th. Popped in 2x16GB of Crucial Ballistix RAM in addition to the 8GB of stock Apple RAM prior to setting up and everything is working perfectly, 40GB at 2400MHz.

Coming from a Late 2013 (pre-4k) iMac I am blown away by this screen. In spite of a lot of active processes, I am also not hearing the fans as often as some others with the i7 are reporting. They never seem to engage when idle.

I ordered the new Magic Keyboard with the number pad and I love it! The action seems better than on the old wired Apple keyboard. Also, unlike with other Bluetooth keyboards this one connects 100% reliably from power on and I have no issues getting into recovery mode or resetting PRAM, etc.

So far, I must say I am very pleased with this purchase!

[doublepost=1497876197][/doublepost]So far there have been no issues, I love 4k video editing, 5k video screen recording, and having a clean everything and slowly building it up to get back into the smooth workflow i am used to - now that i've used it for a handful of days i also know how much leeway i have to give cables, etc. So next is a bit of cable management.

I bought mine from Amazon Japan but it is basically the same as this part at Amazon.com.
Someone recently told me to not get those, and get the ones without the camo on the side. I dont remember their argument, glad to hear it works for you. i hope it's stable.

Just ordered the following from the Swedish Apple Store:
- 27" iMac
- i7 4.2Ghz
- 8GB RAM
- Radeon Pro 575
- 512GB SSD

I'm gonna use it mainly for music production, so high GPU performance isn't needed. And 512GB SSD is nice to have for the future.

I tried and failed to find any first-hand reports on the Ballistix Sport in the new iMac. I am glad I took a chance on it because it has been solid as a rock.

I see that there is also a 5-star review on the Amazon.com page now from a fellow 27" 5k iMac user who added it to the stock RAM with no issues.

I laughed when I saw how many other people also had second thoughts about which CPU to order. I initially ordered with the i5 on the 8th. Then cancelled and reordered on June 11th with the i7. Currently still in "preparing for shipment", with expected to deliver date of June 23rd-27th to NJ. Hopefully I will get my notice of shipment soon!
Config is 27", 512 GB SSD, Radeon 580, i7, 8 GB RAM.
My 32 GB (2x16) sticks of OWC RAM and external 1 TB SSD (850 EVO in an Inateck enclosure) are already on my desk.

It's really simply carrier based logistics. Depending on which carrier has your machine their routing out of China will vary. :apple:

I have an old usb 3 to ssd cable directly to my ocw ssd 240gb, and benchmark shows 265 write and 450 read.
I can't wait to get a ssd connection for it that ends on usb-c and takes a bit more out of it.
I put a usb stick on usb3 (sold as usb3 stick) and it had 6mbyte/s write and 115mb/s read.. lolz

I honestly can't wait to get a 10gbit usb-c external 1tb drive for all my premiere pro proxy stuff.

Ordered a 27" 3.8 i5 1TB SSD on June 13 for delivery 23rd-27th. It just switched to "Preparing for Shipment" so hopefully I will get it by Friday!

Mine's been sitting at a UPS facility about 250mi away since lunch yesterday. However, it's upgraded with the 7700K, and given what folks with that upgrade are starting to experience with fulfillment delays, I'm still happy it'll be here on Monday (so UPS says)... even though I coulda driven there yesterday, and been back for a late dinner last night! :)

It's here!!!! Loads of config and updates to do, but the new memory is installed... :)

My 27" i7 finally went to preparing for shipment! Took forever, especially considering I ordered it on June 6th and it originally had an estimated delivery date of June 15-17.

I ordered the VESA iMac 27" 4.2 i7, 580, 16GBRAM, 2TB Fusion and upgraded to the numeric keyboard (Power excel user/ Photo Editor/ Gamer) late June 12 ET for in-store pick up and was given the June 26th date many have been given as i read through this thread. Early this Monday I checked the status and the date was bumped up to the 23rd. No one cares but if you do the wall mount should be here the 21st (fingers crossed or Ill have a homeless Mac)

My 27 inch with the base 3.4ghz with 512gb SSD was ordered on June 14th.

My status JUST updated and is preparing for shipment.

Originally said it would deliver the 26-28th. Hoping I get it before Friday! :)

Preparing to ship since Friday - that's a whole lot of preparing :)- even longer than the Processing step...

And an hour later it shipped! Due on Wednesday

My June 11th order for a 27" 5K i7 iMac with 512 GB SSD, Radeon 580 GPU, 8 GB RAM (and 2x16 OWC RAM once it arrives) just shipped. Expected delivery is the 27th. Don't have access to any other shipping info yet. Original estimate was the 23rd-26th and I do expect it to get here a little faster than the 27th. So Apple was pretty accurate with it's original estimate. The i7 upgrade doesn't seem to have caused any undue delays beyond what was likely built into the original estimate.

This will be my first Mac desktop after two notebooks! I'm replacing an aging MacBook Air 2.0GHz from 2012. I've been using it for design and development and it's starting to show it's age - especially when building in Xcode.

27" 5K 3.8GHz i5
1TB SSD
Radeon 580
8GB RAM (upgrading to 32GB with Crucial)

I have a June 30th estimate. Excited :)

Ordered the following config on June 5th:
i7 4.2/ 8GB RAM/ 512 SSD /Radeon 575

Ordered the Crucial 32GB kit (2x16GB) from B&H:
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1208371-REG/crucial_ct2k16g4sfd824a_32gb_ddr4_2400_mhz.html

Changed my mind (argh!) and on June 10th ordered the following:
i7 4.2/ 8GB RAM/ 1TB SSD /Radeon 580

June 5th order arrived from California (via Fedex) on June 14th. I sent it back without opening the box.

June 10th order arrived today! It's the fastest computer I have ever used. My work machine is a fully loaded 13" i7 2015 MBP but I have been holding on to my 24" iMac Early 2008 with transplanted 512 SSD (Samsung 840) at home for what seemed like an eternity. This new iMac is a beast and the screen is so beautiful. I have to double-check that the task I asked it to do was completed because it happens so fast!

RAM works perfectly and I ran Apple diagnostics (hold D on boot) to verify.

Popped my Samsung 840 into a USB 3.1 Gen2 case and it's running faster than when it was in my old iMac as it was being held back at 3.0Gbps SATA 2 speeds. I used this case:

I've been lurking since I placed the first order on June 5th but I'd like to say thanks to all the folks that posted their findings on here.

I originally ordered the i5-7500 Radeon Pro 570 with 1 TB SSD, but then decided the entry level was too slow for a reasonable upgrade to my existing machine, so I cancelled the order and re-ordered the i7 with Radeon Pro 580 and 1 TB SSD on the 13th. It had already been something like 5 days after I ordered but luckily it never hit the Preparing For Shipment stage so it was an easy cancel.

I ordered my Crucial 2x8 GB kit (total 24 GB with Apple's 2x4 GB) directly from Crucial. It landed in Canada on the 14th and I haven't heard anything about it since. I wonder how long it will take to get into my hands. Hopefully by Wednesday, since that's when my iMac is supposed to be delivered to me in Toronto. In retrospect I'm thinking I should have just ordered the 2x16 GB kit like you, but honestly 40 GB RAM is just overkill for me. Maybe in a few years 40 GB will be necessary (esp. if I decide to take up some hobbyist video editing), but I can just upgrade then fortunately. And maybe prices will have dropped 50% by then.

How's the noise level like? Read some reports that it is noisy even when idle.
