Ordered the i5 3.8/580, 16gb and 1tb SSD (I can't stand waiting 3-4 weeks for the 512) today (July 3rd), estimated delivery July 7-11th (selected express shipping since it costs pretty much nothing).

Seems like Apple is increasing their profits via the stock deficiencies. :)

While the additional cost is very high, it allows my family to use the new iMac without any space constrains. I also bought AppleCare so we don't need to worry about any hardware problem for 3 years.

Meanwhile if you consider how fast the SSD is in iMac, you may feel less pain.

Bought it Sunday evening. CTO: 4.2Ghz i7 + 3TB Fusion + Trackpad.

I'm having mine shipped to the Apple Store to avoid UPS hijinks. They're quoting July 17th, whereas straight to door was the 8th. I'm hoping it's a conservative estimate and I get an early phone call--pretty sure that's happened to me before with to-store orders.
When it is ups, i usually just ask them to send it to a local ups drop off shop. I then pick it up there. More convenient than going to the Apple Store. In fact, I think they usually just send it to that drop off point anyway if I’m not home.

However, mine is being shipped by Fedex. Taking its time, probably because of the holiday. It spent a day in Memphis and another day in Mississauga. Luckily the FedEx depo isn’t too far.

I just changed my order from a 512 GB SSD to a 1 TB SSD. Everything else remains the same: i5-7600K, 8 GB RAM, Radeon Pro 580. I ordered the original configuration on June 28, and was given a delivery date to an Apple store of July 19. I just chatted with an Apple sales person to see about modifying my order. She said if I canceled the original order and re-ordered, the new delivery date would be sometime after Aug. 7. If I modified the original order, she wouldn't know the new delivery date until 48 hours had passed, but it would probably be sometime in August. I told her to leave the original order in place.

After I stopped chatting with her, on a whim I placed an order via the Apple website for the new system with a 1 TB drive. The new order was given a delivery date of July 14 to an Apple store. I don't know why the Apple sales person gave me such a bad delivery estimate. I'll cancel the original order.

For me, the Apple Store and the UPS Store (or FedEx Office) are about equidistant, and I've managed to not go check the right box before re: forwarding and ended up with it on my doorstep by mistake. Anyway, I figure Apple's factory-to-store shipping is going to be less prone to dropping the box on a corner, etc., but I might be dreaming. It's definitely something to consider for next time though!

Ordered a base 27" on 6/28, changed to preparing for shipping sometime this weekend, but hasn't moved since...expected delivery 7/8-7/12. Wish it would just ship!

Ordered high model (i5 + 580) but with 512 SSD ! And 1 month delay .... I've tested the same model with 2TO fusion drive but not good enough ... I'm so disappointed to wait 1 full month to have my new one with SSD ...I try to convince myself to don't take the 1 to SSD (1 week delay)

For the moment I work on my 2016 MacBook Pro 13 .. so small and for 1 month ...

No news for early delivery for the a CTO order with 512 SSD ?

Possible. There has been extremely heavy demand for the SSD Drives. Apple may have miscalculated SSD supply chain orders, and is now trying to catch up. Probably paying a premium to do so as well.
While I have nothing against Hybrid Spinners, IMO, this 18,3 iMac really makes a case to order with the SSD. :apple:

My machine has been sitting a 1 hour drive away in the FedEx sorting site in Mississauga since Sunday. Still no movement on it today on Tuesday. I wonder why, considering July 4 isn’t a holiday here in Canada.

Oh well, I guess I shouldn’t complain. Delivery date is tomorrow. I already have my 2010 Core i7 870 iMac backing up now to transfer over. I’ll do a direct clone since I have 10.12.5 build 16F2073 on it, which is compatible with the new iMacs. That’s the residuum of my short lived iMac i7-7700K ownership.

Spoke too soon. It's on the truck for delivery! :) Not bad. I ordered on Wednesday, and this weekend was a long weekend. Less than a week from order to delivery. The power of the 1TB SSD...

Too bad I won't be home. I guess I may be driving to the depot tonight...

Home or In Store pickup? :apple:

Home delivery. When I ordered, store delivery was going to be several days later

Painful to wait...already have a 2x16GB RAM kit and a magic trackpad sitting here waiting for the computer :(

Ordered the base model 27" with sweet spot 512 GB SSD. 3-4 weeks. Long wait, but I've waited 3 years for my upgrade from a 2011 13" MBP so a few more weeks aren't going to kill me. Still kind of hoping that it gets here earlier.

I know the feeling. Odd that In Store was later? I was just curious as In Store pickups frequently are ready a couple days before your date. No question shipping times are slipping for BTO iMacs. HUGE demand for the SSD. :apple:

Mine is on its way. And 16Gb of Ram also ordered.

I ordered a 27" model with radeon 580, default config, from an academic retailer (being a university teacher). Shipment is expected in 1-2 weeks, but it seems they say that for all purchases. I won't be able to get it before the 17th anyway. This is going to be a long wait. :)
