The same thing happened to me. I have a rep on line now and I'm being told the date change is an error. I don't buy it...I want to talk to someone in management. Hey, maybe I'll try to get Tim Cook via email ha ha

"Everything is awesome! No delay, you'll get your iMac as promised."

"Yeah the last person told me that, now I see a big decline push."

"I don't see anything wrong with your machine-you'll get it on time"

...to be continued-I still have the rep online

The date has changed. One thing I have learned from this is Apple has no problems lying to their customers.

A little ray of light here as well. I tried chatting again this morning, and was told that every so often an order is "missed" by the shipping team, and that my order (despite it's new month-late ship date) was likely a victim to this sort of mishap. The rep saw no reason (stock or otherwise) why my order didn't originally ship in its original window. She sent an urgent message to their "back-office team" and said I should receive a message from them within 24 hours detailing exactly when I will receive my machine. So, @72C-10, it might be worth having another chat and bringing up this possibility.

Nothing like finding a proactive and knowledgeable service rep to make you feel a little more warm-and-fuzzy. :)

At this point I scarcely even care if this turns out to be true or not; I just hate being told "oh, your order's a month late, that must be so frustrating. But of course we won't accommodate you in any way."

I was told the above the first time I called this AM, only to get an email from Apple an hour later listing my new ship dates. Just Apples way to get you off the phone and then clarify your month delay via an email.

I also got the month extension on my order today. I did an online chat with an apple rep who really couldn't tell me any reason why, other than sorry, stuff happens. But as shortly after our chat I received an email restoring my original shipping window, which is this week. I am not holding my breath, but I'd like to see the computer sooner than later.

I talked to Apple this AM and the best they would do is give me a $150 credit. I tried to get them to do the right thing and upgrade me a 1 TB SSD at no cost and ship it to me this week as I was guaranteed by 3 people from Apple last week that it would be at my house by now. They said nope, we are not doing that. I have iPhones and iPads and this was to be my first iMac, but I think I will just cancel and go and buy a PC instead. The customer service and caring seems to be lacking at Apple.

Never been so

Its sad when things dont goes as expected. I hope you wait, iMac and Mac OSX is insanely good!

Apple's support staff are completely clueless. The one I spoke to didn't even know what an SSD was. Their goal is to just get you off the phone as soon as possible since they have no power to do anything at all.

Pathetic show all around.

Sad for you guys waiting.

My top spec BTO iMac apart from 2TB Fusion/8GB RAM is coming Friday, I'm off that day.....cool.

Also couldn't find 16GBx2 RAM anywhere, Crucial just said "out of Stock" and Amazon had 1-3 weeks.
Then I noticed 16GB stick on it's own was stating delivery on the 18th, so ordered 2 at £205. To buy as a pair was £237.
Had an email today saying delivery moved up to the 15th. Fantastic!!

They told me my ship date hadn't changed, then I got the "pushed out to August" email.

They claim that's an error.

I'm waiting for a call from a CS manager so I can speak to someone in person.

Two different people told me the August date is wrong and I'll get my order by 7/18.

We'll see.

For those with existing education orders or those who have recently received their education orders:

Today Apple launched their Back To School promotion for edu orders beginning July 12 in some countries. However, if you call in you may still be able to get your promotional free headphones deal applied retroactively.

Although the start date of the deal is
July 12, and I received my edu iMac back on July 4, I was able to get the Beats Wireless Solo3 order in as part of the deal. I probably won’t have an official approval for a couple more days but the agent said this falls within their acceptance dates. I suspect it’s because the iMac is still within the period eligible for a return.

I also tried for my MacBook order but they said that one will probably get denied because I received it too long ago. That MacBook is no longer eligible for a return so that makes sense.

This is a reply that I copied from another thread....

"Yesterday I have order my iMac with 512 SSD and the date of shipping was from 9 and 17 August (3/4 weeks)
Today my order have and update...
Shipping from 3 to 10 August (2/3 weeks)

Maybe some problems about this size of SSD are solved... I hope"

Ordered 2. July, delivery estimate still 31. July to 7. August. Shortage doesn't seem to be over in Germany.

But... your estimate date is always the same or changed after your order?
I'm in Italy...

Sad to hear about further delays. I just cancelled with Apple and ordered a 27" iMac I7/8GB/1TB SSD from B&H. They have them in stock. Free 3 Day shipping. It should be delivered on Monday 7/17.

Why you cancelled the order? How much time for wait from apple?

Maybe if more people cancel those of us who don't could be getting ours on time, or dare I even say it, early.

My bumped deadline just changed from 8/9 to 8/16 to 8/2 to 8/9.

Original delivery range was 7/11 to 7/18.

CS reps insist these dates are mistakes and my delivery range is still some time between today and next week.

Mine just changed the same from 8/9 to 8/16 to 8/2 to 8/9. There is about a zero chance we will see an iMac with a 512 SSD this week or next

The reps I chatted with would not acknowledge my questions regarding 512 gig SSD supplies. I'm tempted to just upgrade to the 1 TB SSD. I'll see what the manager has to say when(if?) I get that call as promised.

They will allow you to upgrade to the 1TB, but you will have to pay the up charge. They will also say they will be canceling your current order and the 1TB will count as a new order so you will have to wait for it. They will not admit there is a shortage for the 512 drives so they make it seem like you are giving your space up in the Que and act like the time frame for a 512 and 1TB is the same. They will however offer to cancel your order without getting anything else. I was asked numerous times if I would like to cancel my order and they said they would be more then happy to do so for me. It seemed like they were pushing me to cancel and could care less if I did.

I called as well, and I received my iMac on June 27, which is 1 day too early. They said they only accepted June 28. Technically I said I'm eligible to return the machine today, but I didn't want the hassle. After a few minutes my request was sent to another department so I won't know if I actually get it or not for another few days. It was worth trying for free Headphones!

Any idea if need to call in to get this promo if the order is yet to be delivered? Or they will just add it to my existing pending order?
