Any idea if need to call in to get this promo if the order is yet to be delivered? Or they will just add it to my existing pending order?

I tried doing that, but they wouldn't let me for some weird reason. They said they could only retrofit it to existing orders that already shipped or orders that were not BTO (not orders that haven't shipped yet). They forced me to cancel and reorder, but offered to include expedited shipping.

Luckily, after hearing that the product ships faster if you ship directly to your house, rather than apple store pick-up, my order actually was faster than before (previously Aug 07 pickup, now July 28 - Aug 04 delivery).

They refused to bump my order up the queue or adjust my previous order, but if you call and try then maybe you'll have better luck than I did? Be ready to wait though, I spent 1+ hour on the phone in total after wait time, order cancellation, transfer to sales rep to place expedited reorder, and order adjustments.

If it is an order that preceded the promotion, I believe you have to call in.

Called in and they asked me to cancel and re-order to get the promo. This will result the delivery date be pushed back one week. In the end, he managed to help me add this to my current order so pleased with the service. :)

I spent about 20-25 minutes on the phone for my iMac (which already arrived last week) to get the retroactive Beats deal sorted out. The agent said it qualifies, and I should get the confirmation in a couple of days.

I then spent another 10-15 minutes on the phone for my MacBook (which already arrived 3 weeks ago) to attempt to get that retroactive Beats deal. At my request the agent went ahead and submitted the request but said there is a high likelihood I won't get this second free set of headphones, because this order technically wasn't eligible. However, despite not being eligible, it's a YMMV thing, as I note one guy elsewhere got his order from that same time frame accepted, but that seems to be the exception. Lucky guy.

I got an email from a manager who claims my iMac is about to ship. I suspect that's so I can't cancel the order. I'll update the thread when I see more progress.

Ordered and received my iMac and I saw promotion. Today is last day of 14 day return.
Chatting to customer service and they will send a headphone within two weeks ^_^

Collected my Beats Solo 3. Thanks for posting here else I might have missed out on this wonderful promo. :)
I was able to get one as well :)

Mine i5/570/ 512 SSD ordered on 6/26 just changed status to "Preparing to Ship".
Mine shipped this AM with a delivery date of July 19th. So in the end it will only be 1 day late from the original delivery date.

Ordered an i7/580/512 on June 25. Originally had July 11-July 18 and on Monday was pushed to July 31-August 7. Woke up this morning to both an e-mail and Apple Store App notification that mine has shipped and will be here on Monday!

Just called Apple(Norway) and the person i talked with said they had big problems with their system, and that i should recive my iMac on 21.07, and i will get tracking number 2 days before this. He even said that they have been attacked by the "datavirus" that has been ocured lately. Terrible lie:p. I think they got way to much orders and Thats the problem:)

I talked to a manager yesterday. I received expedited shipping and free accessories to compensate me for the snafu. As of 2 AM-my rig is on the way.

Got an update on my 27" i7 4.2Ghz 580GPU 512 SSD ordered 6/23 at B&H: Apple projects delivery to them on 7/27. Just for laughs I checked with Apple and they would deliver same date.

Sigh.

I was supposed to get my order this week, it was delayed until next month, then changed to 2 weeks. Now today I got a notice it will be delivered on Monday! And I qualified for some free Beats headphones to boot.
It's been a rollercoaster, but I am glad it's finally shipped.

What does Apple require in order to quality for the Beats promo ... I ordered my 27" iMac a few days back and didn't see the promo.

I am having a similar experience as Jimbo2015.

Here is what happened:
  1. Ordered 23-Jun: 27 inch, 3.5GHz with 8GB ram and 512 SSD (Crucial ram to be added later).
  2. During ordering the expected delivery was between 01-July and 08-july
  3. As soon as I put in my credit card, delivery changed to 07-July to 14-July
  4. On 10-July, the delivery suddenly changed to 08-August to 15-August, a one month slip!
  5. I called Apple and spoke with "Ashley". At first she was not that helpful, but then said she had not seen that before, and asked if I would go on hold to see if she could change it to "two-day shipping". I was on hold for a long time. After 20 minutes the call dropped, but she did call me back. She said that the delivery would be moved up, and that I would get an immediate email telling me that the delivery would be from 04-August to 11-August, but that it would actually be moved up further and I should look for a second email with the closer delivery.
  6. On 12-July I did get the second email giving a delivery window from 31-July to 07-August. Sooner, but not very much.
  7. This morning 14-July I got another email saying that the order has shipped by "2 - 3 Business" and to expect delivery 19-July!
I can only conclude that the "feature" of Apple installation software, where it gives a wildly varying and mostly declining time to completion, such as a "60-minute" task at the start resulting in an actual 7 minute task, has infected the Apple build and delivery of product!

You have to buy the iMac through the educational discount program, It's a back to school promo. Luckily for me I am taking a few random college classes so I qualified for the discount.

This is a much more articulate explanation than what I wrote :)
