Ordered 4.2/512GB/16GB/575 on 6/14 at work. I think the original date was late July, then 8/4, now 8/7–8/11. Was hoping to get it earlier because we've got some crazy stuff coming up at work then. Still need to order another 16GB RAM and a media storage drive as I'm going down in size for the SSD because they wouldn't pay for the 1TB SSD.

Ordered my i7 iMac 512GB SSD on July 12th. Got an email from them this morning that my computer was ready to ship but my credit card company declined the charge, despite me calling them and Apple last week to authorize the charge. After going back and forth this morning on the phone, I received an email that my purchase is on the way and still processing. Also this morning Apple was telling me that they couldn't authorize the purchase, but I had a charge for the full amount pending on my CC???? The estimated delivery went from 27 Jul-03 Aug to 31 Jul - 07 Aug :( I just want this to be over. I understand CC fraud is a huge problem, but I hate that it's impacting my ability to purchase a new computer.

I ordered the same thing (but with i5) on the same date, but I haven't received such email :(. My estimated delivery date is Aug 2-11.

Yeah, but IDK if it's because we ordered through the Apple Store for Education, since I work at a university.

I just ordered my iMac and the estimated delivery time is July 28th/29th. Ordered the i7, 1tb SSD. I am very excited, last time I ordered an mac from Apple was in February 2010 so it has been a long time. I have upgraded my iMac a few times but with its hard drive failing I figured it was about time because I wasn't looking forward to opening the iMac again.(I replaced the gpu with a new 2gb Radeon hd6970m a few years back)

This current update was exactly what I was waiting for and I figured I got my money's worth this time since I am getting free beats, 3 times points per a dollar spent and 24 months with 0% interest to boot.

I just ordered my 27 inch i5/r580/8GB/1TB SSD iMac over the phone with student discount. Was told I would be getting the Beats on July 25th and the iMac between July 25th - 28th. Purchased 32GBs of RAM from Amazon to add when it gets here.

Been an Apple guy here and there and have owned two MacBooks, but have never owned an iMac. Put my gaming computer in the bedroom as an HTPC, so this will be my main driver now. Pretty excited.

Ordered Today (educator discount):

I7
8GB -> (ordering 24gb OWC or Crucial)
575 GPU
256 SSD

scheduled for delivery by 7/28 (no 512)

been waiting since 4/16 when I returned new 2015 w/ 1tb fushion...thanks to this forum! (got a mac book pro with 27" LG uhd instead - worked out great - love the mac book and will use LG as 2nd 27" monitor with 27" Imac)

Went light on storage (256) for price, external / cloud no big files or image / video libraries...

It is amazing how much time goes into 4 choices...

got the free beats ear buds.... hope I like em'? ;)

I thought the 580GPU smallest SSD config is 512Gb?

Ordered an i7/580/1TB on July 12, ready for in-store pickup (Toronto) on July 21

Picked up my iMac on July 18 (3 days earlier), and its amazing. I know some people think it's too loud, but I have no idea what they are talking about. Coming from a Late 2009 iMac with a HDD, the 2017 i7 with SSD is outstanding!

Haha...

4 simple choices and all the excitement absolutely correct I was thinking about it and went to edit and saw your comment ...

That ended up being my sweet spot with the I7 and 575 and smaller SSD-

Cheers -

To be clear, you need access to an educational discount to take advantage of this promotion. I was briefly excited about it until I read the fine print ;>)

My i5/575/512GB order on 29/6 with a 26/7 - 02/08 delivery estimate just got charged to my CC... here's hoping it ships soon :)

How about the status of your order? Any change? Or still order in progress? I have the exact setup though I ordered 2 days after you.

Has anyone who ordered with 512 GB SSD in July had any updates yet?

I ordered mine July 4th and it's still showing as order in progress with no charge on the card yet, estimate unchanged at Aug 1-8. My experience is that Apple usually delivers ahead (about a week) of the estimate but maybe that won't happen with the shortage of components they currently have.

Exactly same situation here. 512 SSD 7600 i5 machine ordered on 6 July and estimated pickup from Apple store on 9 August. It is "processing" and no change in delivery date. Of course they did briefly ping my credit card to verify funds, but no actual charge yet.

I just ordered this time last week and have not seen any progress on my order, but the Beats did arrive within 3 days of the order. I'm not in any hurry to get it, but of course I'd rather like to get it sooner than later.
I plan to order some Crucial memory and some other accessories next payday so they should arrive around the same timeframe as the iMac. I will probably install the memory before even firing up it up for the first time.

No updates for me. I ordered the night of July 3rd. Still shows as in progress and delivery between 7/27-8/3. I was really hoping they would surprise me and deliver a little earlier as they typically tend to do but it seems like this shortage has been hard for them to catch up to.

Just ordered today: 27 inch, 3.4GHz/570 GPU/512GB SSD with a delivery estimate of 2-3 weeks or Aug 10-17. Used educational purchasing and got the free Beats headphones. A nice bonus.

This is replacing a 2011 21 inch iMac due to the logic board going out.

On my todo list is additional external storage for the iMac, 16 gigs of RAM, and a NAS to help back up everything.

I caved and bit the bullet. I ordered a fully spec'ed out iMac 27" (i7, 580, 2 TB SSD, 8GB Ram) yesterday. By far the most I ever spent on a computer. I'm usually pretty careful on spending and going for the best value but I just said screw it. I feel a bit guilty on the purchase(i can easily afford it but I don't like spending money like that).

The computer was suppose to come today and then get an email from B&H 50 mins ago "We regret to inform you that due to a system error the ordered merchandise is not in stock"

Maybe it's a higher power intervening that I shouldn't be getting this iMac lol
