That's how the dark theme looks like at DP1 build stage. :)

Last time i posted about this i was ignored, and i still can't see it in the list. In the Finder "Go" menu the icons are no longer colored like the Finder Sidebar.

i'm still on 10.8.5 and did apple ever fix all the bugs with 10.9.?? all the odd 10.X suck, the even ones are good

so, i'll wait until the 3rd or 4rth bug fix is released

Yeah where is that left side toggle menu thingy mabobber? I know you inverted the colors, but I'm still curious about the iOS type menu.

What's this thing like CC that u have in ur screen's lower left corner???

It's "Control Center" by Cindori Software. Initially thought it wasn't worth the $10, but I test drove it and found it more useful than I expected. It's like a combo of iStat Menus, Control Center for iOS 7, MenuBar, Bowtie (iTunes controls), etc. Looks good with 10.10 too.

Thanks I will have to check this out.

thanx a lot :)

Np. Test it first; it works perfectly in 10.9 and haven't had an issue in 10.10 aside from my nMac Pro with dual 27" displays. Before it would stay where I told it; left, bottom left, right, bottom right and on which display. It does, but on a rare instance it disappears for a sec. The developer is aware, so a fix is in the pipe's, he/she is also throwing in more features now that the rumors of a "Control Center" for 10.10 weren't true. :)

Refind

For anyone else who is trying to do the same, I have gotten the boot manager Refind to work alongside Yosemite, do to so:
*Note that you should only do this if you need refind for linux or something, I used this to dual boot linux mint and yosemite*

1) Download the binary zip from:
http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/getting.html

2) Open a terminal and type the command cd followed by the directory of the unzipped folder

3) once in the folder in terminal, type:
./install.sh --esp

bootcamp assistant falls flat on its face... any alternatives to it to make a win partition?

You can do something along the lines of this:
*You may have a to change some steps depending on your situation, but more information can be found from googling install windows without bootcamp*

1)refer to my previous post and install refind

2)make a install cd or usb for windows(or just use the official cd if you have one and a disk drive)

3) use bootcamp assist. to make a usb that contains the drivers for your hardware.

4)go to diskutility. Select your hardrive, then the partition tab. Click the plus button and make a partion of the size that you want windows to be. It might as well be in NTFS format.

5)restart your mac and hold the option key until the boot selection dialog shows up, then insert your install cd or usb. Boot into the windows install usb, it should look different from the mac partition.

6) once booted, go through the install steps until you get to the partition selection part. Here you should select the new partition you made. it is important to select the correct one, you can make sure you select the right one by looking at the drive sizes or if you labeled the partiton, or finally by the format of the new partition.

7) Once selected, click continue if it lets you, if it doesnt let you use that drive, click the advanced button and click format while the new partition is selected. That should make it work.

8) everything should be good! to go to windows you can just have to turn on your mac and wait until the rEFInd dialog comes up and select windows. To boot back into yosemite, hold option at boot.

It ended up being as simple as I needed to repair the partition

It has been a while does having a boot camp partition hinder performance on OS X?

From my experience no, but if you are running a ssd I have been told you get better performance when the drive is not full, same goes for harddrives. However to my knowledge using bootcamp does not hinder osx.

There’s a new “show” drop down list in the bottom left of maps.app.
- what does it do?

when clicked it shows:
show traffic data
show 3D map
show labels such as state borders and town names[when in satellite view]

Yosemite DP as Main OS

Has anyone installed this on their main Mac as the main OS? No backups, partitions or anything like that. If so, is it usable?

I did but I don't recommend it. Except from the audio engine crashed and the fact that the sustem took 1000x more time to respond than usual (which I have both fixed now), it's fairly stable to me.

Wait until DP2 at LEAST. Ideally, wait until the GM.

I tend to install developers' previews and betaware on my MBA, leaving my iMac as my main machine that only gets upgraded when a new OS version is proven stable. I've done that with Lion, Mountain Lion, and Mavericks. But I'm going to pass on beta testing Yosemite and simply wait for general release. I'm digging Mavericks too much to go back to the travails of beta testing. :apple:

But I sure am anxious to check out iCloud Drive.
