Yeah where is that left side toggle menu thingy mabobber? I know you inverted the colors, but I'm still curious about the iOS type menu.
What's this thing like CC that u have in ur screen's lower left corner???
It's "Control Center" by Cindori Software. Initially thought it wasn't worth the $10, but I test drove it and found it more useful than I expected. It's like a combo of iStat Menus, Control Center for iOS 7, MenuBar, Bowtie (iTunes controls), etc. Looks good with 10.10 too.

bootcamp assistant falls flat on its face... any alternatives to it to make a win partition?
You can do something along the lines of this:
*You may have a to change some steps depending on your situation, but more information can be found from googling install windows without bootcamp*
1)refer to my previous post and install refind
2)make a install cd or usb for windows(or just use the official cd if you have one and a disk drive)
3) use bootcamp assist. to make a usb that contains the drivers for your hardware.
4)go to diskutility. Select your hardrive, then the partition tab. Click the plus button and make a partion of the size that you want windows to be. It might as well be in NTFS format.
5)restart your mac and hold the option key until the boot selection dialog shows up, then insert your install cd or usb. Boot into the windows install usb, it should look different from the mac partition.
6) once booted, go through the install steps until you get to the partition selection part. Here you should select the new partition you made. it is important to select the correct one, you can make sure you select the right one by looking at the drive sizes or if you labeled the partiton, or finally by the format of the new partition.
7) Once selected, click continue if it lets you, if it doesnt let you use that drive, click the advanced button and click format while the new partition is selected. That should make it work.
8) everything should be good! to go to windows you can just have to turn on your mac and wait until the rEFInd dialog comes up and select windows. To boot back into yosemite, hold option at boot.
It ended up being as simple as I needed to repair the partition
Thats good.
It has been a while does having a boot camp partition hinder performance on OS X?
Theres a new show drop down list in the bottom left of maps.app.
- what does it do?
Has anyone installed this on their main Mac as the main OS? No backups, partitions or anything like that. If so, is it usable?
I did but I don't recommend it. Except from the audio engine crashed and the fact that the sustem took 1000x more time to respond than usual (which I have both fixed now), it's fairly stable to me.
Wait until DP2 at LEAST. Ideally, wait until the GM.
