Youtube now defaults to HTML5 and you can't change it back to flash player. Unfortunately, the youtube HTML5 player (like the netflix HTML5 player) feels incomplete. I really hope apple at least gives us an option to switch players, and for netflix too.

Stupid question, but did you install Flash Player? Is Flash working on other websites?

Mine was about 166GB used, and now it's 159GB used - I suspect it's because the Yosemite installer deleted itself itself and some other things got cleaned up.

True, but Yosemite only required 8 gigs at install. Yours is a difference of 7 gigs, which is about right... my 70 GB seems a little fishy.

What does the redesigned weather look like?

Does iTunes 12 bring back the ability to have more than one iTunes main window open at a time? IE main library and iTunes store in separate windows?

TIA

Nope. They now look like tabs at the top:

Don't worry :) - your photos also show a bug I had - the sunset, sunrise, sunset repeated multiple times

Forgive me if any of the following are already in DP3 or earlier, but I noticed the following for the first time on the public beta:

Icons can no longer be dragged anywhere from the dock to remove them. You have to drag them to the trash bin:

In fullscreen mode, the "maximize" button gets moved to a toolbar that sits underneath the menubar and appears in a drawer-style animation when you mouse to the top of the screen. It's been removed from the application window itself.

You can still drag them anywhere, you just have to hold them for a second before releasing - I think Apple changed this in Mountain Lion (maybe Mavericks?) - still, the Trash is a welcome addition!

Hello,

Used search and didn't find an answer: is the "Column Browser" still available in iTunes 12? (By which I mean the view that allows us to see the genres, artists, albums above the list of songs.)

Thanks

Loa

Anyone have this running as their ONLY OS? (ie: not as a partition).

I wanna go all out, or not at all.

Yep - it's harder to find the view (work across the "toolbar" from left to right):

- Switch to Music
- Pick "My Music" or "Playlists"
- Pick "Song List"
- View -> Column Browser

I (stupidly?) made the plunge tonight - I Super Duper'd Mavericks to a spare drive and figured I'd jump in - the Developer Previews have been fairly solid on an external drive. My computer at work will not be getting it just for the sake of reliability.

I had the installer crash three times, but it's now up and running. It's stable enough in most senses if you're prepared to acknowledge it's just a Beta and will have bugs.

I've switched over to Yosemite for my standard web browsing, but I wont be doing any full scale production work on this OS just for peace of mind.

Agreed - what I meant was that it was a bit suspicious, since Yosemite's footprint is very similar to Mavericks - good luck tracking down the lost space...

They can still be removed from anywhere, you just need to wait for the "remove from dock" label to appear. I didn't know you could remove icons from the dock with the trash though, so nice find!

New "mac help" window.

EDIT: It turns out that all of the help windows have been updated!
