I don't have that third checkbox on my 2011 MBP, but it's definitely there in my Mac mini. Maybe they also include it on laptops where they know the battery now works as well as a power brick? HAha. :) ;)

On my mom's 2010 MBP with mavericks it also has the "start up automatically after power failure" option, so I have no idea why it wouldn't be there on your 2011 model.

Paths are now displayed like the following in the Get Info window :
"OS X ▸ Users ▸ david"
... which can be rather problematic when it comes to copy-pasting and accessing these paths.

Problem just reported. I like this way of displaying paths, if only Apple could keep it but also keep the copy-paste features in Finder and Terminal :D

Where did you get those icons? Source please.

HOW TO CHANGE ICONS
Download each one, and open it in Preview.

When open, Command-C it.

Go the applications folder and Get Info on the app you wanna change.

Click on the icon [in the top corner] and Command-V.

Congrats; your icon is changed!

:D:D:D

Do you have iPhoto? If so, do the following:

1) Open iPhoto
2) Click on the "iPhoto" menu
3) Click on the "Preferences..." menu item
4) Click on the "General" icon
5) Open the "Connecting camera opens:" drop-down menu
6) Click on the "No application" menu item

The attached screenshot shows this menu, with the appropriate option highlighted.

No, I removed iPhoto after I installed Yosemite Beta because My Photo Stream wouldn't sync when both Aperture and iPhoto are installed on same computer. I've been an avid Aperture user for years.
It's not a big deal but that Image Capture pops up, just wondering how to stop it.

Thanks for your response!

Additionally, when I go into Aperture preferences, I see that "No Application" is set, similar to what you explained for iPhoto, yet Image Capture still pops up.

Also, there's no settings selection in the Image Capture application itself. It's completely blank.

Glitch?

Thanks.

That will only appear in the lower-left corner when a device is connected and selected...changing the settings in iPhoto/Aperture applies broadly to everything on your system - Image Capture seems to allow you to do it on a granular level (so connecting your iPhone won't open iPhoto, but maybe a DSLR will). I think this was the same behavior with Mavericks and prior.

On Mavericks - and no, I don't know how to enable FileVault off the top of my head, so I don't think it's turned on on my MBP or mini.

It's at System Preferences > Security & Privacy > FileVault on both Mavericks and Yosemite

For what it's worth, I don't see the checkbox on my 2012 13" MBP (Yosemite FileVault on), but I do on a 2012 Mac mini (Mavericks, running as a server, FileVault off). I'll check on my work iMac (2011, Mavericks, FileVault on) on Monday.

Running Yosemite, yes?

Is FileVault 2 enabled or not?

It's at System Preferences > Security & Privacy > FileVault on both Mavericks and Yosemite

I really do think the feature is just for computers that don't have built in batteries, or have the potential be running as a server. I think the final release of Yosemite will have this fixed.

Anyone experience weird speaker/mics issues when doing face time calls?
When i call my friends to their mac or ipad or pro, on THEIR side they hear an annoying echo.

Has anyone else noticed that double clicking the grey area either side of the URL box in Safari now expands or shrinks the window size? The behaviour is similar to Windows (or at least it was in XP!), whereas double clicking this area in OS X used to minimise the window into the dock.

This behaviour also seems to happen in the Finder.

Yes, I had the same thing happen on my friends side of the call; a bad echo. On my side of the call, he sounded like a stuttering Alvin from the Chipmunks. I switched back to Mavericks and placed the call again and all was well. I submitted a bug report on it.

I have a few ongoing bugs that I've reported.

MacBook Air (11" Mid 2013)

After deep sleep, my USB mice don't seem to work. I have to restart to get the system to recognize them again.

Drag & Drop in finder doesn't function correctly for me. I can begin a drag operation, but when I release the mouse button, the files/ folders don't release from the cursor and copy/move as they should.

I had the same issue - Restarting Finder using killall Finder in Terminal seemed to fix it.

You're a splendid person. Thank you.:)

DP5! Maybe we can now return to little things as in features rather than people posting bug reports on the wrong thread! Yay!

- Whoa, the volume feedback sound has been changed, and for the better, it's not as annoying
- The look of Brightness/Volume controls have been tweaked.
- System Preferences now has integrated title bar.
- Slightly tweaked Calculator widget.

"Rink highlight dots" :)

Does anyone know if folder highlights are back and not just the rink highlight dots?

These are here to stay – they switched to dots in Mavericks with the introduction of tagging.

The reason is that a file can now be tagged with multiple tags/colors, so they need a way to show that in the UI. See screenshot.
