Ability to remove full screen switching/spaces animation?

Does anyone know whether the animation that shows when switching from full screen apps (or switching spaces) can be disabled in Yosemite? You need TotalSpaces to do it on OS X Mavericks.

It really irks me that it can't just be disabled for instant switching. Anyone know?

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the application switcher (cmd+tab) now has a small space between the current active application and the rest. Couldn't take a screenshot, so I took a picture:

Interesting...the only time I get that separation is when handoff is active. Otherwise, no apps are separated even if they are the foreground application.

I've had it since Public Beta 2 or 3. No OS X Server installed. Probably to do with the icon cache.

Wow. That should be filed under "why bother?". At some point, the crayons stop looking like crayons.

Ironically, that color picker might be used by some artist who specializes in photorealistic renderings.

It was present in previous OS X versions as well. I think.

I'd disagree. I think the 27" iMac's pixel density is just barely low enough that the helvetica neue font is a little bit rough. Not unusably so. I'm looking forward to the retina iMacs which should hopefully be out before Christmas if things… follow the same pattern they have for the last 2 years.

I think we are still at least a few years out before we see 21" retinas, not to mention 27". It's just too expensive. But maybe Apple will do what they did the rMBP and introduce more expensive retina models alongside the old ones...

No $2500 sounds about right. It goes up to $3000 extremely quickly though when upgrading the CPU, GPU and memory.
