People complaining about the public beta not being stable enough...have you submitted bugs in the Feedback Assistant? The whole point of a beta is testing and making sure the OS is up to prime BEFORE launching to the general public. Microsoft did the same thing with Windows 10. It's not uncommon to experience bugs.

This is what happens when you widen the availability of beta software - you get a bunch of people with higher expectations, people that ignore the warnings Apple give about not using the betas on peoples' main Macs..., and they expect things that worked in previous stable releases of OS X to work in the betas.

As besler3035 says above, submit bug reports for the win :)

I do not ignore the warnings and yes I always submit feedback reports.

I also report feedback reports to developers and inform them that I am aware that they do not currently support the beta operating system I am running then I provide my system information to them and what the issue is along with a screenshot. I just post here because I am by no means an expert and wonder if someone has had the same issue and has figured out a solution or work around.

I've been fairly lucky, I've only run across a few instances of software that doesn't work properly in ElCap PBs.... Twitteriffic, NZBDrop, NTFS for Mac by Paragon & Carbon Copy Cloner (the first two I sought replacements for in the Mac App Store which work properly and the latter two, beta versions of their software has already been made available)

While that is fair, I have submitted my problem with Airplay not seeing my Yamaha amp for every beta released so far, and it *still* isn't fixed, so you can understand people just giving up and not bothering.

On another note, I notice sharing videos from Youtube, to Facebook, doesn't work at all, with either Safari or Chrome (not tried any other browser)

So far, with PB 3, I've had no problems, no crashes and no lags (excepted a Bluetooth mouse, MX Masters, lags a bit at times when moving across safari).

But I only just noticed somethings:
1) spotlight isn't as described in the keynote. Typing weather in... Does nothing new for me. It's just the same old spotlight. Bug or am I missing something?

2) some apps don't support split screen. And as the PB rolls out, it appears as if more and more of my apps aren't supporting it. For example, Mathematica would allow split screen in PB 2, but not in PB 3.

Here's my crash report. Just got my logic board replaced for free a few weeks ago on my early 2011 map 15" is this due to crappy repair by Apple, probably putting a ****** OEM/used logic board in there, or is it something else?

Is anyone else having issue with their battery after the 3rd Beta? My status bar icon does not show that my battery is charging. However, if I look in Coconut Battery is shows that it is. It also does not show when the battery is depleting. My computer has shut down several times because of low battery without any warning. The battery stays at whatever % it is when I turn on the computer.

Have you tried resetting your SMC and PRAM?

I have got a odd issue some folder icons don't show up in Path Finder (known I guess), but in standard Finder as well.

Downloading .zip files from Safari sometimes results in them having an extra .airmail extension.

Every page in MacRumors downloads a file called "partner"

iFlicks2 doesn't recognise any files.

Tried with SIP off as well but no joy ?

Any ideas ? Thanks.

PB 3 has been the buggiest release of the 3 so far, at least for me. It seems when I wake the Mac from sleep is when I start seeing weird things. For instance this morning Messages said I had 76 unread messages, when in fact I had none. When I opened the application there were no messages at all, none, not just unread.

The Feedback assistant is starting to get a workout. :p

Agreed - apart from fixing the Finder bug, DB5 seems worse than previous; mainly for stock apps not working properly, such as NC widgets. My guess is that DB5/PB3 was rushed out to fix something (maybe just the Finder bug) so they took an older code base and worked on that. Hopefully the next beta will contain all the fixes since DB3-4/PB2, incorporates whatever they felt they had to do to rush the latest beta out, and is therefore a good one.

There's no point in sending out something full of such obvious bugs that even Apple must have known were in there when they sent it, just to then get thousands of feedback messages for known problems. They'll swamp any real issues.

Having said all that, I have only one Mac and DB5 works well enough for me (i.e. it's stable enough) as my main machine.

On DP6, connecting iPhone or iPad triggers "PTPCamera" process, taking over 20%+ of the CPU all the time. It occasional triggers "footprint" process, using 400%+ CPU.

Anyone notice this bug:
trying to get to www.adiumxtras.com in chrome. chrome cpu usage is going up to 110% and site won't load.
safari loads the page without any problems. having since public beta 1.
some other pages have the same behaviour. anyone in here how to debug this?

EDIT: this is not happening if chrome is launched from the dmg!

this are console messages (repeating until closing the concerned tab) when these certain page try to load:
04.08.15 10:33:17,148 Google Chrome Helper[993]: Unable to determine parameter value. This will likely cause issues with CL context rendering.
04.08.15 10:33:17,148 Google Chrome Helper[993]: [CL_INVALID_DEVICE] : OpenCL Error : clGetDeviceInfo failed: Failed to retrieve device information! Invalid device

on yosemite everything works fine with the (for example) adiumxtras page.

thank you!
