Microsoft Remote Desktop

I use Microsoft Remote Desktop for work and it uses both of my displays, and that might hold me back from installing.

Just installed Yosemite public beta 1. MRD seems to be working for me.

(I only use one monitor, tho.)

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, and if it has oh well... Has anyone noticed that when you try to send a link from safari via Messages, safari crashes? I sent in a feedback report about it, but I just wanted to know if this was happening to any other people...

Okay so my problem is actually with Mavericks. It won't let me set up a partition for Yosemite! I have a screenshot attached to compensate for any poor explanation on my part. See? There's no Partition tab at the top in Disk Utility. Please help!

Mission control is very jerky/choppy on MBP 13" 2010.

Dock folders has this problem too. Animations are very choppy.

----------

Issues noticed so far: MacBook Pro takes a few seconds longer to wake up from sleep, dock folder animations are very jerky and Finder flashes black if you scroll 'past' the content in the folder.

Yep. I'm getting that too!

Flashing Background

After installing the beta my background keeps flashing from the desktop picture to black and the dock is missing? I've restarted quite a few times and it's still doing this.... do you think I should reinstall the beta?

My wifi has been stable since I set a specific DNS server, rather than using my router address which was the default, I've changed it to Google 8.8.8.8

Can any one else verify this?

No, I mean in the standard OS X file open dialog: drop the file over the red area

Yosemite install

Been using it on all my MBP's and Mini since latest dev version released weeks ago and have to say not seeing 1/2 of all the problems listed on this thread.

Mavericks screwed up my NAS transfer speeds but fixed now. No issues with TC , Safari and all 3 machines haven't experienced any system crashes or issues installing Yosemite. As in dev testing I installed on a 2nd partition and did a clean install on all 3.

There are some issues I admit with dark mode as other 3rd party apps not updated to use it but will in time.

Handoff works fine for me and no issues with Outlook or iPhoto.

Ok so everything is fine when I log into the guest account, but not when I log into my account. I have 2 drives in my Macbook Pro 2009.... SSD has OS Yosemite beta and the hard drive has Mavericks....

Has something to do with my account though at least...

groovy! except for zero wireless connectivity

Really like the change, however my iMac 8,1 does not seem to be able to identify any wifi networks any more. Is anyone else experiencing this? the only way to submit feedback is via usb tethering at the moment.

Working great here! Only having issues with 3 applications at the moment.

1. Final Cut Pro
2. Piapro Studio (Hatsune Miku English Plugin)
3. AirServer

The rest is flawless.

After using it for a day (clean install from USB) I just found two problems:

- safari crashes when dragging favourites to top sites.
- htop (homebrew) doesn't show actual CPU or MEM usage, just zeros (not a Yosemite bug per se, but annoying).

Other than that, no problems. I like the new interface.

Follow up to my post:

Well....

The public beta is unusable for me. Installed it on a late 2013 MBP 15". MBP was wiped yesterday and a fresh copy of Mavericks installed. No Time Machine backup, etc.

Downloaded the beta and ran the installer. Install went fine.

Problem I'm having is totally unreliable wifi. It will stay connected for 3-5 minutes, then go away. I'm still connected, but can't ping, get name resolution, browse, anything until I turn off WiFi and turn it back on. I repaired permissions on a whim, but nada.

I filed 4 reports with Feedback Assistant in the past 2 hours. Alas.

Installed Yosemite on a early 2013 13" MBP. Having zero issues networking; so, whatever WiFi issues are isolated to my 15" MBP.

As other poster suggested, tried manually setting DNS, but had no effect.

Display arrangement

No matter how many times I reset it, including PRAM and changing in Displays, Yosemite will not remember my display arrangement at the beginning of startup. The main display is blank, no Log-In.

This forces me to turn on my HDTV, switch the input, type in my password, then it changes the arrangement to the correct setting. But having to do this every single time I boot up the machine will be a non-starter if not fixed.

If anybody has any suggestions, feel free to chime in.

----------

Several problems...

FaceTime & Messages will not sign into my Apple ID even though it works fine in iCloud & iTunes. Had the same problem in Mavericks, Apple never fixed. I gave up on it. I guess that's a problem Apple does not intend to ever fix. :(

Also, my versions of Final Cut Pro and iMovie show as incompatible with Yosemite.

Same for me... Has something to do with Dashboard.

This stopped the behaviour for me: Open Preferences, then Mission Control and set Dashboard to Off.

Mostly good stuff for me so far, super fast on mid 2011 iMac, also looks quite good, I don't think it's quite night and day with that screen VS retina, it's a 21".

Two things:

- a few popups telling me that Java needs to be installed to run some web content when I'm not actually using Safari..and then it says there's not really a Java update for this version of OSX. No page issues when browsing though so I don't worry about it.
- Digital Color Meter is sadly nowhere to be found yet, and that's an awesome app. If Grapher survives, Color Meter should. Hopefully it'll be added.

I have this exact same issue; crashing dock, flashing background (and major graphical glitches generally), but is fine in the guest account.

I've tried disabling all login items, no success as of yet!

Edit: should add, this is on a single partitioned mid 2013 MBA…

Safari is super unstable for me (i.e. open it and it crashes within a minute). Is this true for anyone else?

I been using Yosemite from the dev channel and I am surprised this bug still hasn't been eradicated. I find it happens most often on Facebook, I will be scrolling, then it freezes halfway for a few seconds, then just either crashes, or the entire OS reboots. The bug reporting tool doesn't always get triggered either.
