Anyone have any idea what causes the failure to wake? Just had to power off and power up to get the iMac going again. I originally thought it was caused by leaving Activity Monitor running but after several 'clear' days it happened this AM again.
Also, are we likely to get another public beta before the final release?
Just curious.
What class of file are you trying to open? I can't reproduce the problem with common class files.
Just removed Office with AppZapper and trawled through the Library removing the sporadic MS files, did the reinstall and autoupdate and Word 'track changes' still crashing
I had a simple text file with the extension .txt. I right clicked on the file and it said "fetching..." and a few second s later it showed my list. When the list did show around 14 apps were in the list. So it could be an issue with the number of items.
Do you see something in the system.log?
This happened to me with my iMac early'08, running Mavericks and the problem disappeared after a clean installation. (of Mavericks)
this logo appears for 5-6 secs. just before apple logo at startup.
(late 2012 imac 21.5") anybody has this problem?

Got my public beta a couple of days ago..
iphoto, pages, numbers and keynote won't start (even no bouncing icon on the dock..)
Does it boot up normally following this? If not, try pressing alt at the same time as the Mac Chime sound / screen turning on, and see if any disks appear...
I just upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, but wasn't even able to log on after the upgrade. I have a MacBook Pro, and the screen went blank after boot. A boot in safe mode, got me to the login page but it went into a reset password loop. The only thing i found regarding this issue where related to filevault, but this is not enabled on my machine... Time Machine is my best friend today
Is anyone having issues with FireFox? After I installed OS Yosemite, Firefox will not work at all. It opens then closes prompting a Crash Reporter each and every time.
Has anyone noticed that in Safari when you have it remember your login/password to forums like this one, that it will not automatically login you in every time? It seems to work for a day or two, but then you have to enter the login/password again.
Sorry if this has already been reported, but did not see it. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
Yep, I get that too.
