Fixed with the beta 5 :)

It's visible now, but it still looks blah. Like they just used the light-mode version surrounded by the dark-mode border.

Annoyance found in the Mail App. The width of the message list is just slightly smaller than needed by Mail to display the Sender and text even if you increase the width manually, it always wants a bit more. Meaning that the message lists can move side to side and can be left in a state that completely obscures the blue new mail icon.

I'm seeing same behavior. This truncated window is in other windows as well like adding a rule.

Outlook for Mac launches without a Home Screen on Yosemite Public Beta.

Create a new Identity and see if Outlook will open? I found that some Identities would open and others would not. You might need to add your accounts and start over in a new Identity.

UPS Auto Shutdown is not working in Yosemite. The Mac is not getting status updates from my Cyberpower UPS and can't recognize the switch to battery from AC. Thus auto shutdowns is not working. It works fine on my Mavericks machine.

Just installed DP5, and I'm having some major issues I've never faced before.

- My USB sound card no longer works properly. It produces garbled audio. Using my iMac's internal speakers is fine.

- Whenever I go to Security & Privacy on System Preferences, I get the following weird debug UI:

Late 2013 MBPr running fresh install of Yosemite.

Every time I change my wallpaper the changes take but if I shutdown or reboot, it reverts back to the default Yosemite wallpaper. I have a 32GB Nifty drive that contains the wallpapers so I am wondering if OS X is not reading it in time by the time I log in? The funny thing is I can see the wallpaper I changed it to on the log in screen but once I am logged back in, it's back to the default.

Already submitted this via Feedback Assistant.

I have had exactly the same problem for some time in Mavericks. My image is stored on a external drive which seems to cause the problem.

----------

I have an early 2008 MacBook Pro with Mavericks 10.9.4, and I'm running Yosemite Public Beta on an external FW drive.

In Yosemite, Airport looks and looks and looks for a network, but never finds one.

When I boot back into Mavericks, I can see networks and connect fine.

I *would * have reported via Feedback Assistant, but that only runs under 10.10, needs an internet connection, so how do I report?

Anyone know what to do?

Dave,

I am having exactly the same problem. I am using an older iMac (2008) too, but running Yosemite on a partition on my hard drive. I suspect that it is something to do with the age of the machine based on what I've seen here and elsewhere.

Outlook for Mac launches without a Home Screen on Yosemite Public Beta.

Menu Bar operates normally (can access Menu Items etc.) but not able to see emails, calendar or contacts as no Home Screen is visible.

Reported to Microsoft and provided Feedback to Apple.

Might have to use Mail instead (have always avoided this program since first buying a Mac many years ago). Any Thoughts on Mail v Outlook?

I've had this on my rMBP since DP4 (incl PB1 & DP5) - yet on my MBA running any version of 10.10 its absolutely fine.

Are you using Exchange?

Also have a look in console for..

05/08/2014 09:56:05.694 Microsoft Outlook[659]: *** Collection <__NSArrayM: 0x7ff2bf00> was mutated while being enumerated.

After each time you click on the Outlook problem. Would be good to know I'm not the only one with this...

Why are still the numbers in the middle instead on the right side
I'm the only one who get this bug ?

It's a 2013 27" iMac.

I think my install is sort of screwed, tbh. I installed DP5 over PB1, which isn't officially a supported migration path. DP4 and PB1 were only 1 build number different, so I assumed it was fine.

I'm just going to wait for the next PB at this point before assuming it's a bug. Everything was fairly smooth until now.

graphics corruption in wifi settings is still not fixed in DP5. this one:

Did you have it before or did they just add it?

----------

Apple is usually pretty quick getting stuff to US, Canada, and UK, plus China. Especially Canada since we use Google Canada other than Google.com and a lot of the same sites, not much of a rewrite needed to support UK and Canada...

We now have enhanced Spotlight search in Canada! Yay! Thanks DP5

Spotlight is not searching the web for me. No Wikipedia articles or any other things.

That is not a bug, Apple has not added support for many countries yet. I think currently it's only working for Germany, U.S & Canada (As far as I know of).

It's not working here in Norway either but you could change your country in System Preferences -> Language & Region - > Region: U.S

That way you will get Wiki searches, App Store Searches and more in Spotlight

Seems like, depending how you have been upgrading your beta, you may get more or less problems. I tried to install DP2 and update to DP4, got a lot of graphics glitch. Then I tried to go from DP2 to DP5, same problems and more (no sound, not even the output device...)
But from PB1 to DP5, it's working perfectly.

This was my experience. Going the 10.9.4-to-DP1,2,3,4 route made my system very unstable and I experienced a lot of the issues that have been mentioned (Safari slow/unresponsive, New Tab doesn't have cursor, Sound, Wi-fi issues galore). I ended up erasing and TM restoring back to 10.9.4.

Going from 10.9.4 to PB1 to DP5 has been smooth and stable for me.

(Safari slow/unresponsive, New Tab doesn't have cursor.

What do you mean by new tab not having cursor ?
When I create a new tab, I always have to click in the url bar (or use Cmd+L) to have the cursor in the url bar. But since I noticed this even with a clean install of PB1, I thought it was by design... (Bad one though)

Having to click the bar/cmd-L in a new window/tab in order to type an address/search term is a bug. When you open a new window or new tab (cmd-N or cmd-T) the focus should already be in the bar, ready to accept text.

When I installed DP1,2,3,4, I was having the buggy behavior: command-N (or T), then command-L to type.

Currently, my Safari in DP5 behaves as in Mavericks: New Window/Tab = focus in bar ready to type.

Been discussed, bug reports filed. See:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1758428/
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1758716/ (which points to others)
etc etc.

I believe the criteria to see this behavior was
Dark Mode on+Translucent Menu Bar off = blah menu slider.

whereas
Dark Mode on+Translucent Menu Bar on = nice dark slider

See Post 667 and Post 675 in this thread.

Bug reported in PB1, and it is still behaving wrong in DP5 for me. The only way I can have the focus in the url bar, is by having it there on the tab I was on before I hit Cmd + T. But Safari has been so far the buggiest app of all with FaceTime. So I guess they are working a lot on it anyway.

Safari Bug

If you get an "Startup-Disk almost full" message and you have, like in my case for example 240gb free space left - navigate to Macintosh HD:Users:YOUR NAME:Library:Caches:com.apple.Safari and delete all content. That will get rid of the error.

Something is wonky with the cache in safari.

This page breaks Safari: http://hypemusicfestivals.com/2014/08/04/hype-list-of-the-50-greatest-live-acts-right-now/

Hogs CPU and not even scrolling. I can understand a heavy page, but breaking scrolling just feels wrong. I don't even care if I scroll into a white nothingness, breaking basic UI manipulation throws me back to the days where you know you were screwed if the mouse pointer stopped moving.

When it finished loading (yes, 50+ videos are rough), scrolling resumed. Bad UX Apple.
