Able to boot now after removing plist file as suggested

Thanks, it works by removing PlatformSupport.plist file. But, surely need graphics acceleration. Please guide me if there is any hope for graphics??:)

Try to delete the PlatformSupport.plist, see Post #44.

If your EFI is already 64bit, your MB4,1 should boot with the stock Boot.efi from Apple, the 32bit Boot.efi from Pike is not needed .

Yosemite macbook 1,3 late 2007

Hi I have your same macbook (1,3) late 2007.
I tried to use SFOOT but with no luck (besides the fact that I have a 64Bit architecture therefore I do not think is the best soution).
Did you managed to install Yosemite on this machine? How does it work? Could you pls share a guide?

Near finishing guide for Windows 8 BootCamp on unsupported Macs

Now have a easy guide for AirDrop on unsupported Macs (Not between iOS and Mac)

People who are using VoodooHDA, what version actually works for your Mac?

Has anyone had any problems running MLPostFactor 0.3 on their Macs regarding detecting the .app in the Applications Folder? Just looking into something.

I am now available daily on Skype to help people with their installation, getting kexts, or just talking about random stuff :p

Problem with the guide

Sorry about that. I upgraded to iCloud Drive. I'll get you guys a dropbox link:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12650283/OS X Mavericks Patch.pdf

I'm having some trouble with this guide.
These are my MAC specs

http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...-2.2-white-13-late-2007-santa-rosa-specs.html

And I'm trying to install Mavericks have Lion installed on my Mac.
I'm following the guide step by step. Points A and B no problems.
I didn't have a copy of Mavericks so I got one via link torrent provided.

I've then created a disk using utility disk.

Point C

navigate to /Contents/Resources/SharedSupport and double-cick the dmg-file

I can do that but there is no SharedSupport folder.
Do u know why?

You don't need sfott neither for mavericks or yosemite, stay await from it.

we "just" have to wait for the right kext, or some genius that has the rigth work around to run there oses on our old mac

Hi guys

I'm trying to install Yosemite on a Mac mini 2,1, but I can't boot from the patched install external hard drive. I have no idea why it's not showing in the startup manager. Any ideas?

Thanks

EDIT: OS X version 10.5.4, using an external hard drive as an installer. I'm able to boot into the installer on my macbook air 2012, but not on my Mac mini

I installed the update 10.10.2 14C68m. Watch out because it updates the boot.efi. Restoring the pike's boot.efi (or which one you're using) it boots fine.

Also one needs to restore just the AppleHDA.kext. For testing I tried not restoring IOAudioFamily.kext (which has been updated as well) and the audio seems ok.

Wi-Fi seems to be working as usual, at least in my MacBook2,1

When I try to boot from my install USB it says Yosemite is already installed on my mac. Why would this be happening? I have Mountain Lion but that is it.

MPF was doomed the day Tiamo came on the scene

HackerWayne & whoever can't write 64bit kexts for unsup[ported cards, any more than you could write the boot rom for a Cray supercomputer after a week of AppleSoft Basic classes.

Done, Kaput, not happening.

Either live without GPU acceleration or buy a new Mac.

He made promises he couldn't keep and needs to crawl away and vanish.

Let him go.

Have not heard from Wayne in almost a month. Kelian was suppose to tell me about the beta after his vacation but he seems to always be "away" on Skype. I think he is avoiding the confession that MPF failed. I for one have no idea how to rewrite 64 kexts without bricking my Macbook completely (made quite a few attempts).
Just work with what you have. :(

Being new to this "____ On unsupported Mac" scene, I didn't know much of Wayne or Tiamo or anything. But after researching, it seems I'll have to agree with you one this. Although I don't like naysayers, I have to admit that there's not much of a chance. HackerWayne just keeps throwing out teasers with no proof of anything. If he did do it and does release it, then great. But I don't think it's likely.

Have you had an answer for this? I have the same problem on my Mac Pro 1.1.

I'm running 10.9.1.

No I never got any help. I made a new flash drive and it works. I just need to find the right Kexts to get the graphics to actually work.

From what I gather from this thread, It looks like I could get a usable Yosemite on my old MacBook 3,1 (I mostly use it for mails and a bit of browsing or iWork editing).

What I do not quite understand is where to start. I've re-downloaded the Yosemite installation app on my supported Mac. Should I now use SFOTT? I've tried applying the manual steps described at the beginning of this thread but I could not mount the InstallESD.dmg.

Has anyone tried SFOTT on Mac that don't need a modified Boot.efi?

It has come to my attention that people are having trouble viewing OSXH on mobile devices (my inbox got filled with complaints  ) when trying to work on their Macs while reading instructions. Those who bricked their Macs also had no way at viewing the guides since the site. To compensate for this issue, I added a Johnson Network 4:3 script that allows the site to scale to fit the entire screen on iOS and make it appear like a native application when the user adds it to the Home screen. . . . And I did this in only 10 minutes

Need help please!! I followed all the instructions to make the usb installer. I reboot to install and it starts loading with an Apple logo and a progress bar on the bottom and then at like 30% it stops and goes into a screen with the cancel sign (circle with a line going through it). I tried deleting the platformsupport.plist, same thing happens. Thanks in advance!

Btw I have an early black MacBook 4,1

Did you add your board ID to the platformsupport.plist?

----------

Does anyone know where I can get the Yosemite kexts for my 4,1? The one on osxhackers just goes to the mavericks files.
