New Support Documents have been added to Post 1. Users who successfully install OS X on their Unsupported Macs can make their own support documents and add it to the download servers.
Thank you VERY MUCH for your efforts.
In my Macbook 4.1 running Yosemite (thanks to MCPF 1.0.1) NOT THE SLIGHTEST IMPROVEMENT.
No difference at all after running the NEW GMA X1300 pkg :(
Quick Time as before. No avi playback
Otherwise no detectable difference at all in Safari or elsewhere.
Am I doing something wrong?????????

Whole system crashed today and unable to reinstall since the OSX Hackers site seems to be down. No downloads working, including that kext update you posted the other day. Any ideas when it will be back online?

I, the developers, and our Hosting Provider haven't figure out what's going on yet. No ETA on when it will be back online.

What happened to your Mac? What OS were you trying to reinstall?

Hello TMRJIJ
Haven't heard from you and your work to improve graphics for quite a while.
Is the graphic file you added in one post in this forum (because of the server problems affecting OSX Hackers) the same file posted before (which did not improve at all anything in the Yosemite of my MB 4.1 early 2008)?
Thanks.

Did you get the email or did the FBI deny that too? I'll send another link in the PM conversation.

Hi, i have some questions hope someone can help me figure this one out.

I have a Macbook Pro 2.1 A1211 currently running 10.8.5 with MCPF 1.0.1

However i wanna ttry Mavericks to see if i can live without hardware acceleration since i just cant one specific program that requires 10.9 or above, my question is, if i upgrade to Mavericks and install it on a different partition, would i be able of just reinstalling MCPF with 10.8.5 again? because the recovery partition would have Mavericks isnt it? in other words, what would be the easiest, quickest way to downgrade the recovery partition MCPF creates so i have 10.8.5 instead of Mavericks?

Don't be 100% sure about a recovery partition tailored for Mavericks.
If you will have one, it will be the hacked one through MCPF and not the usual from Apple corresponding to a OSX.
However I installed Yosemite in my "unsupported" Macbook and did not get any recovery partition at all.
I can live without it. Just use clones and Time Machine backups to be on the safe side,
In my modest opinion you should make a bootable clone of your 10.8.5 system in an external drive or large USB stick just for safety.
To make a Time Machine back up and try it that it works would not be a bad idea either.
If you could change the hard disk (supposing you have or buy another one and do not risk to ruin your mac by doing the exchange) you could install Mavericks through MCPF without taking any risk at all on your present system.

I just did a backup of my full ML installation, MCPF is currently installing Mavericks and ill post back when it finishes booting, my MB Pro has a Radeon x1600 chip so im not sure how bad it will perform without hardware acceleration.

EDIT: well ive been using it for the last 3 hours and it runs suprisingly well, i even installed the program that pushed me to install Mavericks in the first place, which makes me wonder if theres anything i can do to improve video performance.

I have a Macbook Pro 2.1 its from late 2006 with ATI x1600 gpu, it works fine for the most part but the program i use for Djing is Traktor and in each deck it displays a waveform of the track thats playing, the animation of this waveform is not smooth, it jumps and jiggles when it should be moving smoothly.

Is there anything i could try to improve gpu performance? besides that everything worked perfectly.

Did you use the Kexts installation to be found when downloading the Extractor files?

NEW INFO - I MODIFY THE POST - REAL IMPROVEMENTS

Installed
OS X Extractor Graphics Kexts Update 1.1
  • Intel Integrated Graphics GMA 950
  • Macbook 2,1
  • Using macpostfactor on my MB 2,1 (that was running ML on MLpostfactor) to install Yosemite 10.10.4
  • It recognises my GMA 950 with 10 MB and no qe/ci
  • Yosemite working well.
  • BETTER results than using the original MacPostFactor kext.
  • Screen saver working more smoothly, better reproduction of youtube (360p) videos, not so many reproduction cuts.
  • I can move windows faster and better.
  • VLC 2.2.2 reproduces sound, not images.
  • Quicktime Player shows 1080p, maybe 5/7 fps, but they can be reproduced
  • Thank you a lot! Great job! Maybe we are far (I really don't know) of getting the same quality than gotten in MLPostFactor (full QE/CI) but I like to be able to work with my Fireworks and being able to install Yosemite programs (last versions that work on 10.10 and 10.11 MAC OS X).
  • Can I help with something, maybe installing some beta kexts or whatever?

Yes, All individual patches in OS Extractor 1.3* are compatible with MCPF 1.0.1

Just a suggestion.
The PeerToPeer application Vuze, usually used for torrents, includes a HD video player.
Only with that video player I can play avi videos with picture and sound.
Any other video or media player I tried did not do that.
Also mkv videos work in most cases with that in Vuze included HD player unless they are huge BR files needing the missing video acceleration.
VLC gives only the sound track and all other players I tried behaved in the same way.
For mp4 videos one can simply use QuickTime. That works fine.

We are expanding our Beta Testing Team to work on the following:
  • OS X Extractor 1.33
  • OS X Extractor Graphics Update 1.11
  • USB Kexts for El Capitan
  • CPUPowerManagement for Yosemite and El Capitan
It may take a while to reply back if you sent PMs since I'm reorganizing all of these patches while working on other projects.

You mentioned to have installed Yosemite 10.10.4.
When I updated to the last Yosemite 10.10.5 (or even installing a safety update of Apple) I lost recognition of sound-in (built-in microphone) and sound-out (built-in speakers) in my MacBook.
By running the Apple HD Audio Kext in the downloaded Extractor files and rebooting I had again microphone and speakers.:)

I have just noticed that the HD Player of Vuze does not deliver all mkv videos with dialogues and images synchronized as they should. Some mkv videos cannot be seen because of huge lags between image and sound. The FLIP PLAYER seems however to work fine with mkv videos. The HD Player on the other side works fine with avi movies.

Macbook early 2008 running Yosemite. No graphics acceleration but bearable using the kexts found in this thread. iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud fully working and using CDOCK for the dock effect. Doesn't look too bad if I say so myself and runs pretty well for an 8 year old machine having only upgraded to an SSD.

Any idea on how to fix the brightness backlight functions or not possible?
