In that one place
I've recently gone back to using one of these. It is so simple and the battery lasts for a week. I previously had a low end Sony Ericsson and the current entry level Nokia. I use an ipod touch with a 3g wifi modem for mobile internet. i have a 160GB Classic and a 16GB nano for listening to music.

I'd like an iphone, but I think they are still far too expensive.

It's amazing how durable those old Nokia phones are, you can drop them a thousand times and they'll still work!

Also the people with the Palm Pre, pixi, treo whatever. is WebOS any good and how is the app store like ? Any good ?

I wanted Palm Pre but I got my HTC Hero for Christmas which I do love still =)

webOS is arguably the best smartphone OS out there (yes it even edges iOS in terms of functionality/UI in my opinion). The app store however is only just starting to pick up pace and is no match for the Android Market or iOS App Store in terms of sheer quantity.

But there are 5500+ apps now and counting and a large percentage of those are quality apps (very few fart apps) with big names like Angry Birds, Assassin's Creed, Need for Speed, Facebook, Pandora, NYT, LA Times, Weather Channel, Engadget etc all having a presence. You're likely to find the basics or their alternatives.

The battery life on my Mytouch 4g sucked majorly...exchanged it for this:

Blackberry-Bold-9780-e1288333356579.jpg

The Blackberry Bold 9780...so far, I'm getting used to the interface of BB OS6, and the whole small screen thing, but I'm loving it. Battery life is is 20x better than that on the Mytouch4g.

I went back to BlackBerry - suits my needs much better than iPhone4 but I miss the multi-media prowess. It's amazing what that 9780 can do with just a 624Mhz cpu and 512MB RAM+Memory isn't it?!

Cannot WAIT until RIM ports QNX into their smartphones with much more powerful cpu's late 2011.

Well my Samsung Jet (from the previous page) died when a car ran over it after it slipped out of my pocket whilst i was riding to work! So i need to pick up a new phone now. I had a play with the HTC HD7 (windows 7 phone) and it seemed really responsive and i liked the menu style.

Might see if i can pick one up cheap off ebay etc.

I've tried multiple times to switch from a Blackberry to another phone but it never works. The ease of typing on the keyboard and navigating with the trackball has me sucked in. It is certainly no media power house like the iPhone but I think it is the best messaging phone.

Same here but os 6 is a huge improvement in the multimedia department... Went from the 9700. QNX is gonna be awesome on blackberries

After my incident with the iPod Touch; I decided not to get the iPhone. Got a Sidekick then realized I hated it! Then settled for this in August '10

After having a Sony phone, I'm never doing that again.

I now have a G2, it's pretty darn good, although T-Mobile's coverage map is totally unrealistic as far as "4G" coverage is concerned.

The funny thing is pulling down 200kbit/sec in some places and still getting an 80ms ping. Go figure!

BB6 for others hooked on BB5/4.x are having a mixed bag of appreciation. I do agree about the WebKit-Engine (Browser & HTML emails; huge improvement), and multimedia have improved. I LOVE Social Feeds.

QNX on the PlayBook is looking really bountiful, but when it comes to BB's I just cannot contain myself - praying RIM doesn't dissapoint.

Oddly enough Danger, Inc had a HUGE niche market in the USA [hearing impaired] - which they neglected by vastly improving the product line. SK4 was what SK2/3 should've been and due to that many left and now use BB's.

I'm jealous; Japan gets all of the fancy flip-phones. You hardly see any flip-phones out here, and if any are released, blog readers completely hate on the phone (For example, the Blackberry Style QWERTY flip phone).

The closest we have to your phone here in the U.S. is the Casio Exilim C721 on Verizon, which isn't as advanced at all. I would get it but have no desire to be on Verizon (Not trying to get in an argument about Verizon with anyone, I just don't want them for my own reasons).

Just got a black Mytouch 4g...the HSPA+ network on T-mobile is extremely fast...like running on Wifi. The screen is great, the camera is great, Froyo is great...

just an all around great phone!

+1 one on this. The file integration with Dropbox is awesome!

Cheers,

Cheers,

I exchanged it for Blackberry Bold 9780...the batter life on the Mytouch 4g was awful...6 hours at most...ugh. I'm in a kitchen all day every day, and I need a phone that can last me through the day without me worrying about using it without running the battery.

The BB Bold is by far the best phone I've had.

I unplugged it at 4:30AM today, and I just got home and it's at 55%...that's like what? 15 hours or something since then? It's 9:30PM right now.

And you did this ALL without:
Turning 3G off and going GPRS/EDGE only
Turning off WLAN and Bluetooth
Limiting the length of your calls: business or pleasure? [always BOTH].

Imagine what you're battery life would be if you DID do all of that?

I'm VERY curious how often in a 12mth cycle users in the US/Canada go ABOVE their limited data allotment using other smartphones [non-BB's]?? This without tethering.

I don't seem to understand...I don't have to turn off 3G or anything else without worrying about the battery dying...I don't want to cripple the phone just to save battery. The BB does just that. Allows me to use the phone to it's full potential without crippling it?
