Thanks guys, much appreciated.

What I did in Photoshop:
1) Select the Gradient Tool in the toolbar
2) Then when a toolbar pops up at the top of the screen, select reflected gradient from about 5 choices.
3) Once you have selected reflected gradient, hit 'Q' on your keyboard which will apply a quick mask.
4) Then using your mouse, click and drag over the area you want to be in focus (it will show up in red) once you have made your choice, hit 'Q' once again.
5) Go into Filter, Blur, then Lens Blur
6) Fiddle with the settings and hit OK
7) Voila! The lens blur may take some time to generate depending on how speedy your computer is.

it's a great technique. i guess you also desaturated the image and applied some contrast, and of course the vignetting.

Where is that ND-Filter if you need it? f/2.0 and 1/4000th. Therefore the wheels of the moving roller are frozen.
I would've liked f/1.4 and 1/250th better in this shot, but i have no possibility to get rid of 5 stops of light.

anyway,
have a nice day.

I like it a lot. I dont think reducing the shutter speed would have added much. In fact, i like the frozen look

Yea, my dad was there a few months before we went and he was showing me pictures from that beach, I was stoked to go there. Unfortunately no 747s came when we were there, only that plane and a few little jets. There was a little sandblast, it's awesome seeing them come right over your head. I'd love to see your shots.

Very nice.

Yea I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I just got back. We went to: St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados. It was really fun, and my first cruise. Now I'm in trouble since I'm so used to having food available 24/7 :D

I definitely would like to go back to St. Maarten, that and Antigua were probably my favorite islands.

Oh, very nice. We only had one day at sea, I kind of wish we had 1 or 2 more so I could enjoy the ship more since I was off it from 8-4:30 :-/
