More point 'n shoot...

Driftwood log showing charred burn marks, Taft beach, Lincoln City, Oregon. This beach is a repository for hundreds of old logs that are carried down by the creeks and rivers along the Oregon coast into the bays and ocean before being tossed onto the sand during winter storms and high tides. There is so much driftwood here that people make forts and other forms of shelter with it as they picnic on the beach. Fires are permitted, and of course there's plenty of fuel... Another point 'n shoot shot with the Lumix LZ8.

Wow, it seems MR photograph quality is improving each month. We got the master of patience, doylem who takes amazing landscapes and sceneries, we got sonor who is making a swan look cool , Phrasikleia with her amazing skills with macro photography, pdxflint who shows that its not all about the camera but more about the person behind the camera ;) and finally we got nuwomb who might not produce amazing HDR all the time, but his consistency with the art of HDR and some of his masterpieces is just amazing.

Glad to have you guys (and gals) here and for those name not mentioned here, don't worry this is not a comparison or anything, it just names of people who I remembered, so post here often and I might remember you in the future ;)

Okay, lemme edit and here is my addition for this month:

I absolutely love this shot. The colors, the contrast, the sharpness. It looks really good. Any chance I could get a copy of a large size so I can put it into my desktop wallpaper rotation?

Also here is my entry for the day.

Very lucky shot - wasn't attempting to capture the bird. Opportunistic shot after waving good-bye to my mother and sister who'd come to visit - saw the light and thought it looked quite moody. Maybe the kestrel or whatever that they use to scare the pigeons out of the city each periodically?

Pretty unique I think... best shot I've ever taken with my Olympus E400. Not a particularly great camera but can take some great snaps as long as there's good light. I was using the wide angle lens from the stock lens kit for this.

More point 'n shoot... m & ms

One in a several part series of primary color/composition exercises. A friend had a promo printout for a color printer, and there was a bowl of M&Ms on the counter... and my old Canon A95 point 'n shoot. Aperture preferred/macro mode.

Went back in time this weekend... old paddleboat on the Savannah:p

I really wanted to treat the edges of the frame to make it look more antiquated- any one know of a good process or guide for this method?
