Defiantly a keeper! Very nice. Whereabouts in Wales is this?

Stunning !

Cheers :)

Hugh

Many thanks Hughmac and AFB. The river/stream is called Clywedog just outside Wrexham. Plas Power is the name of an old country estate that the river runs through. There's a nice path that follows the river up through some industrial archeaology (lead & iron). Took a fair bit of post to overcome the excessive, hard contrast caused by unusually high levels of sunshine!

Here's some of that industrial stuff - a disused lead mine about 1-mile from the river shot.

Minnie the Mermaid , last weekend , by the Tidal Basin in Washington D.C. . No doubt she came in on the morning tide to admire the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Sadly , her visit ashore was abbreviated by the arrival of some folks from the Fish and Wildlife Service , armed with tape measures , and a volume of regulations . After extensive measurement and consultation , she was deemed undersize and they threw her back .

So sad....... figured for sure she was a keeper.

Sounds like a fishy tail to me!

Looks like an adult mermaid to me. You could have taken her home with you before F&G got there... as long as there is not another mermaid in your life, or course :)

Yeah , suppose I could have figured out something to get her on Amtrak to NYC , and then the bus to Jersey . But the real problem would begin when the girlfriend comes over . We go out , and at the end of an enjoyable meal she says :"So...Explain to me about the mermaid in the bathtub..."
What do I tell her ? " The rubber duck sprung a leak and I had to replace it with SOMETHING !!!!!????"

No , it was better for all parties that things ended as they did.

Hmmm... Maybe time to tidy my bedroom...

My daughters would likely argue there are a few weeks left in that... You can still see the floor in places!

Nice gentle light. I like the picture.

Is this someone who lives in a rail carriage? What does it look like inside?

Nice angle. Like the leading line.

Cue young boy snigger... Phnar phnar...

Nice. Love the lines, love the vintage wash

Beautifully saturated. That boat looks huge from that angle.

Are they the actual colours or are you messing with them? They are gorgeous!

Actually it's where we are living at the moment - we're on holiday in Cambridgeshire for the week.
The carriage itself has been split into bedroom, lounge and bathroom compartments, with full services but very old fashioned.
The kitchen is an extension built against the side you can't see, plus a small conservatory.

Very compact but comfortable as a base to explore the Fens.

Cheers :)

Sounds neat , but must be a real pain every morning when the conductor comes through checking tickets ...

The colors of the Auroras above are natural, including the violet ones. The violet (shades of purple) colors are rare and most people can't see it, but the sensor does. When I was taking the photos I had no idea that the violet colors were present until I looked at one of the photos on the camera's screen. This night was the first time in over eight years that I have seen the Auroras violet colors on my photos.

Lighter gases high in the ionosphere, like hydrogen and helium, make colors like blue and purple, but our eyes cannot always see them in the night sky.

I was just very lucky that night, and these are the most common colors (green, yellow, white):
