You did good!
Have you ever experienced that dilemma where you had to choose between the shot that you envisioned and the shot that is looking pretty good along the way to it? This photo was the product of just such a decision. You can read the whole story here.

Each one keeps getting better!
Thanks, guys -- for a second there, I thought you were on to my collection of model birds. I thought for sure that these would lead to a string of Monty Python references.
You're making me a little nostalgic about my time at sea, Fcortese. Is this a Knox-class frigate?

Spot on, MCH. I was on the USS Ainsworth which in 1974 was initially classified as a destroyer escort (DE-1090). In 1975 she was reclassified as a fast frigate and changed to FF 1090.
Woah! hang on, ARE these models? No this is ruining my fascination with the pictures now... please dont say they are just models!

MacRy, thanks for the info on the watch shoot. Gonna try something like that soon. Just never really bothered with lighting and products, but currently feeling uninspired on landscapes, so gonna bring it indoors and do something different.

Loverly scene and interesting story to go with. We have all been there I'm sure!
Wonderful photo of a beautiful scene, Phrasikleia -- sometimes spontaneity rules the day.
This is an absolutely stunning shot. Beautiful!
Gorgeous. Would look great on the wall...
I'm like the photographer equivalent of a hoarder!
Awesome! Great to see some more portraits.Haven't taken any photos in ages! Took a couple for my bro over the weekend.
This little guy was barking up a storm right outside my office. I guess his human tethered him to the bench while they ran inside a store... I'm kinda bummed that I cut off his tail, but I am happy with the way the tones turned out.
What's up, dog by drtruett
Have shot this subject (and posted) before. Went back again today to do it again.
Power Plant in Providence, RI.
This time:
Nikon 45mm PC-E shifted up on a leveled tripod head to maintain perspective on the stacks and buildings. Converted to B&W with Silver Efex Pro to darken the sky and lighten the bricks (wasn't happy with what I was getting in Lightroom).
