Pastel Sea
March 2017
Here is a calming image taken a few weeks ago prior to sunset. It follows my interest in 'quiet' seascapes / landscapes....
Finding these type of images is more difficult than it seems. However, finding a scene and pre-visualising how a long exposure transforms it is one of the most rewarding things about this style of photography. You turn reality into a dream-like scene with just a camera and a couple of minutes.
This is fast becoming one of my favourite images. Sounds sad, but I was buzzing when the Fujifilm UK Facebook account 'Liked' and commented "Stunning image!" on it earlier today. It's up there with Colin Prior 'Liking' an image I posted as a comment on his page once!
Anyway, the technical bit (apologies for the awful fb compression on the image, I saved it directly from there to post here:
Fuji X-T2 with XF 50-140mm f2.8 lens and XF 1.4 TC using LEE Filters Big Stopper and 0.6 Neutral Density Hard Graduated Filter. Exposure: 2mins / f11 / ISO 200

Lovely sky. I've never tried shooting just the sky. Perhaps I'll give it a go the next half decent one we get.Into the clouds......Purple and Gold
Agree. I'm always on the lookout for things like that. When Mrs AFB traps a beetle in the house with a glass waiting for me to get home to deal with, I always tell her I'll get my camera first!Found this dead moth this morning and thought it would make a nice macro photographic subject.
hi soupcan!Hello fellow Dutchman to the above. This one's looking north to the city center of Zaandam from the Den Uyl bridge. Warning, ginormous image.
Shot on an iPhone 6S.
