Very nice. It wouldn't have been half as effective if you were looking down on the dog, and I like the difference in texture - and colour - between the dog and the sofa.

A quiet corner of Woodbridge...

Here is a calming image taken a few weeks ago prior to sunset. It follows my interest in 'quiet' seascapes / landscapes....
Finding these type of images is more difficult than it seems. However, finding a scene and pre-visualising how a long exposure transforms it is one of the most rewarding things about this style of photography. You turn reality into a dream-like scene with just a camera and a couple of minutes.

This is fast becoming one of my favourite images. Sounds sad, but I was buzzing when the Fujifilm UK Facebook account 'Liked' and commented "Stunning image!" on it earlier today. It's up there with Colin Prior 'Liking' an image I posted as a comment on his page once!

Anyway, the technical bit (apologies for the awful fb compression on the image, I saved it directly from there to post here:

Fuji X-T2 with XF 50-140mm f2.8 lens and XF 1.4 TC using LEE Filters Big Stopper and 0.6 Neutral Density Hard Graduated Filter. Exposure: 2mins / f11 / ISO 200

No grad lines here ;)

Any idea why it is called a Bluebird ? Ha ha ha just kidding. Wow look at the colours ! Nature doesn't do Blue as often as some other colours but when it does.... Boom! :)

So true about blues in nature Ken. These guys, especially the males, are so blue it's a bit hard to control saturation unless it's an overcast day.

Wow. Bird as well as the branch.

moving from bears to birds?

Thanks oblomow. Tis the season...hoping for a bear trip this coming summer. :)

Nature doesn't do blue? Well apart from the sea and the sky! :D

Lovely sky. I've never tried shooting just the sky. Perhaps I'll give it a go the next half decent one we get.

Found this dead moth this morning and thought it would make a nice macro photographic subject.

Agree. I'm always on the lookout for things like that. When Mrs AFB traps a beetle in the house with a glass waiting for me to get home to deal with, I always tell her I'll get my camera first!

Bramley Apple Buds
by Hugh Russell, on Flickr

Sony A7, Nikkor-H 50mm @ f/2

Cheers :)

Hugh

You post some very nice images, but the background on this one is *really* busy, so much so that it completely draws my eye away from the apple buds and almost becomes the subject with the apple buds being a distraction. I think this is made worse by the apple buds being relatively underexposed compared to the background. Just my 2 coppers and take it with a grain of salt :)

Mine for today. Was a foggy morning with rain and I decided to go to a nearby spot to take some pics prior to a meeting. Was holding an umbrella in my left hand while I took this. Luckily it was a light lens ;)
