Same bug as yesterday, but with a bit better lighting and context. Which do you prefer?

They’re both excellent shots. But if I had to choos it would be the close up version.Same bug as yesterday, but with a bit better lighting and context. Which do you prefer?

Thanks. They’re both excellent shots. But if I had to choos it would be the close up version.
Thank you also. Interesting you both prefer a different photo!I like this one better because the DOF is better. One of the hazards of macro shooting is the plane of focus can be so shallow that important bits go out too easily without focus stacking or a super narrow aperture.
Thanks.

Normally with bugs I get a few shots in as quickly as possible, then move gradually closer. That way if you scare them away, you already have something on the card.
Thats because your fussier than me! I post any old crap I shootI might prefer the second one with a tighter crop, but I just felt like the focus was a bit off with the macro type of one. I can’t tell you how many macro shots I’ve discarded with just a bit of the wrong (or correct) part OOF.

Careful as he might tell you to wind your neck in (that expression might not translate!).
Another pic of the Newport Bridge. This one a B&W conversion of one I posted in another thread.
I thought Snowleapod was a better OS!Love it! this looks to have a bit of B&W Fine Art processing to it...
[doublepost=1524761799][/doublepost]LOVE this Black Leopard! Was amazed that even though at first glance it is black, look deeply and it is actually a Leopard under exposed by a couple stops ha ha ha - still has the markings of a leopard.

Looks like he fancied you for lunch.
Super jealous. I love lions. Did you have an access all areas pass or something?Lol... They ALL fancied me for lunch!
Sorry for two in a day naughtiness but this little fella decided to try the taster menu. He stalked me from behind, jumped on me and worked his way round to the front then playfully "nibbled" my ear - in dog speak, the little beggar bit me! so technically I have survived a Lion attack! ha ha ha
Notice how he has my head locked in with one paw (like a vice!) and is standing on my hand so I couldn't get him off. It looks like he is sat up in front of me but trust me when I say, he had me immobilised. Dew claw in the back of my neck, pinned my hand. I was helpless.
Of course the handler thought it was hilarious and the cubs little sister was just lying there all "whatever!" lol...

I got up close and personal with some lions and tigers when I did the Photography package with Wild Arena. When they growl it certainly makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.Oh yes... I emailed them ahead of time asking best package, said once in a lifetime, they sent a car to get me and when i got there they treated me like a king. Ushered past queues, taken behind the scenes, as in where the naughty cats are kept. I was taken in with Cheetahs and got to feed them. Trust me, walking into an enclosure with a bucket of raw meat and a pair of peckish carnivores gets your senses awakened!
At the end they just charged me for a tour...so i tipped heavily.
