Nope just usially a simple case of Airport -> hotel -> office -> airport.....

Plus last few times I have been in Alphen Den Rijn and Amstelveen rather than the centre...

Ha ha ha... Yes Alloway was lovely. Would like to go back as it was quite interesting to see the old sites.

Yes please post some shots to let us see.

I thought Cumnock was a nice area no?
Sounds a lot like my business trips.

I'm going a bit off the grid here, this is not my P365 photo. Last week was our spring break, and we ended up doing a small road trip of North Carolina and Virginia. My husband and I met 20 years ago (at work!) in Richmond, and I was not into photography then (and certainly not scrapbooking and preserving memories like I am now). We wanted to show the kids the James River, and the easiest way to get there was to walk through the building in which we met. I couldn't resist taking a photo of the lobby entrance, some two decades later (with both kids in tow). Kind of surreal, as I moved from Richmond the week before we got married to move with my husband to NYC in November 2001. Despite my recent slate of flower photos, my heart loves photos that tell a story of some sort, even if it isn't evident to a random viewer.

Hearing the story behind a photo is always interesting.

What was your shutter timing for this ?
Very nicely done, only things I would have done differently are:
  • Have more lead-in of the rails on the right, so the first (right) post is further in the frame
  • Have quite a bit more negative space on the top and left of frame
I like it!

All of these are nominally 5-minute exposures at ISO400 f8.0. Selected ISO to get to the desired exposure time with the 16-stop ND; no advantage noise-wise in trying to get to the lowest ISO for this type of shot imho.

I've got one a bit more like that for tomorrow, albeit from the other side of the railings :)

From the Waterlily House at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. I've accepted that I'm a bit of a fiend for shallow DOF's.

The trouble with these very stark style of images is that composition is everything - small changes can make a massive difference to the overall feel. I can only experiment to try to get something that works.

A @MacRy (and I) safe image! I really like the way the light played across this spider web as it billowed in the wind. It was a big web, easily a good metre high in this part, so I was very thankful the critter that built it wasn't actually there to traumatise me further.

Forgive me for saying, but you live in the wrong part of the world to have a spider phobia.
