The poor creature has lost the bottom two sections of its front legs.The mantis I mentioned yesterday. They are peculiar in the insect world in that they seem particularly interested in humans when we pay attention to them. This one didn’t like me trying to shoo him away into the grass and was actually a little standoffish. Just trying to keep you from getting squished, bud!

Still looks quite well fed! Must have attempted to take on something a bit stronger than itself at some stage, or maybe got stuck in a Golden Orb's web? I saw one attempting a boxing match with a mouse one day! The mouse ended up running off, I think it got scratched in the eyes too many times. 😱The poor creature has lost the bottom two sections of its front legs.![]()
