Haha, yes, this was one of the first times one sat still. What’s funny is he would fly away for a few seconds and then come right back. Over and over. Once I figured that out, I just kept my focus on the post, and I ended up with a few shots of just the post. Some insects lead an exhausting lifestyle!Did you glue it in place? Ours never stop moving for a second!
My favourite bird! We have a breeding pair that come back to one of our pine trees each Spring and they have just started fixing up the nest for this season recently! This guy had paid a visit to the deck back a month or so ago, and now he's discovered that there are goodies to be had so he returned yesterday after a reconnoitering stop on Tuesday. I was able to grab the RX10 and get a headshot through the screen door:

My favorite bird is -- no surprise -- the Great Blue Heron (GBH) -- and I am so tickled every time I see Alfred and get a chance to photograph him. Herons and egrets fascinate me. This guy, an American Crow, is fairly common around this area, and can be raucous and noisy at times. He's bigger than the little sparrows and scare them. If one of the squirrels were here at the time he arrived, I'm sure they'd quickly scamper off, too!
