We must respectful creatures in the wild, currently there is a walrus named Freya in Scandinavia that may have to be euthanized because she is too popular and people won’t leave her alone.
Too late: "The Norwegian government euthanized its celebrity walrus Freya on early Sunday morning, after warning the public to stay away from her." She liked to be around humans.

.. my first attempt at catching a photo of the sporangia on the underside of some fern leaves .. it was difficult to hold out in one hand, and photo it with an iPad in the other. But It was 'on my mind', and gave it a try this morning.

This is so sad.....but I suppose the Norwegian government felt that they had to do what they saw as necessary because Freya was climbing into people's boats and also doing other things, and humans persistently getting too close to her were going to be in danger at some point, so better to avert a serious injury or death situation. It's still sad, though, isn't it?

A note for clarification: this photo was shot by someone in Norway, it's not a member's POTD submission....

It is very sad, Clix Pix. Blessings upon dear Freya; blessings upon the person(s) who actually euthanized her; blessings upon the people who made the decision; and blessings upon all the people who cared about her, near and far.
