Waiting for the person scheduled for a portrait fashion street style shoot at 6am. Nothing else to do but shoot backdrop of that days shoot. Had fun with this one in Photoshop. Weather was not bad as it looks. In fact, when we started the shoot, sky was clear, and streets were dry. Blue skies and sun hit building before 8am ending the session. Since this has been another day when I've been busy and distracted and also coming down with a lousy cold, I am simply sharing another image from my archives..... it's a scan I did a while back from an image I shot a long, long time ago when I was taking some classes in photography.....

AFB inquired: What is it?

The original image (on film) was of two vases against a background of an interesting piece of gold parchment-like art paper that I had found somewhere. The larger vase is orange, the smaller one a dark blue. I scanned the image into which ever (Windows) computer I had back then and for some reason it would only scan part of the photo, essentially creating a cropped image with a weird bit at the top that wasn't in the original -- artifacts, if you will. I studied it for a bit and then tweaked and cropped it some more to create this rather mysterious final product! .

I pulled this one out of the archives from a trip to Tanzania three years ago to mess around with different black & white processing techniques in Ps. The zebra seemed like an obvious choice...maybe too obvious?

A scan of an old slide. An open pit copper mine. I remember being amazed by the size of the dump trucks. You can see 2 normal sized pickups waiting at the crossing.

That would've been a great thing to photograph. I remember Birmingham City Council had one of the discs in a board room - not sure what happened to it when the building was refurbed.

Audubon Birds of Prey Center. A local rehab center with the goal to return to the wild if possible. While a scale reference is missing, this owl was so small (approx. 9 inches) and perched on an employees gloved arm as she walked around.
