Went for a walk in the woods today (is that still allowed under current UK restrictions..?!) 
Jupiter and Saturn as buddies - not see clearly since 1226. Interesting sight in our challenging times.

Snow you say? Well, we have plenty of that. That would be about 3 1/2 feet to the right of the picture.
Franz-Josef-Glacier valley in New Zealand (South Island, West Coast), taken exactly 4 years ago (take a few hours). Would love to go the NZ again, but guilty conscience does not allow. Sure, I could CO2 compensate the trip, but that does not take it from the upper atmosphere where the plane emits it. So when will we have zero (local) emission affordable long-range commercial airliners???

A view of the Llobregat river from high in the Montserrat mountains. The green/ocre tint is due to the ethereal light that comes from the sunset in Montserrat. I didn't want to "correct" that in postproduction, since it matches the mood I remember. It was taken on a small canon SD100 (or 200, can't remember)

From yesterday morning. About 40cm (16"). Thankfully no reason to try and free the minivan in one day.

I have some similar of Doubtful Sound from my visit to see my brother and his wife who live in Christchurch. I also share your doubts and wonder whether I will or should see him again. Such great memories, but is that all to which we should look forward? Tough first-world dilemma ... I wonder how long a container ship would take
Visiting family is a whole different thing IMHO. In your case, why not combine it with another sightseeing tour 😉 We live in Germany and hope to travel to Island via Ferry in 2022, three days on a ship will be enough for me already, would never consider a multi-week freighter trip down there 😅I have some similar of Doubtful Sound from my visit to see my brother and his wife who live in Christchurch.
