As others have mentioned not a great time of year for fresh images. I still have a few to go from that first Olympus camera back in 2004. This from July of that year. That camera had some issues. It took about 5 seconds to turn on, had noticeable shutter lag and the tele end of the optical zoom was soft. Still I seldom need to do anything more than minor tweaks of the original image.

This year has been my worst ever for getting out with a camera, mostly pandemic and medically related, so I've taken to randomly picking an archive photo to share...

Cheers :)

Hugh

Same here I haven't taken my real camera out in months, just mainly grabbing shots with the phone. I really need to make it a point to get out do some real shooting soon.

Yes, and you caught a good break on the timing, as ginkgos turn a brilliant yellow almost overnight, but they are also really quick to drop all their leaves in one cold night. You managed to catch them with some leaves on the ground and some in the trees. A day or two in either direction and you might have had no fall color, or no leaves at all.
Yeah, when I pulled up I immediately thought about how lucky I was to catch it at the right time and the fog lifting off in the distance made a big difference as well. I came back and took the same photo after running for another hour or so and it was definitely not nearly as dramatic.

Alcántara, rural Spain, with the Roman bridge that has been completed more than 1900 years ago, and which is open for road traffic these days. September 2018, the final time we've been travelling for vacation before health and C....
I did not quite nail the exposure on this one, but I like it nevertheless.

So last of 2004 for awhile. One of the joys of high(ish) altitude photography can be loads of contrast, and that little Olympus had never even heard of RAW. This shot of 'Castle Falls' came from the camera with some of the water blocked almost completely white and most of the cliffs entirely in the black. My 'normal' quick fixes were not up to the task, so I resorted to adjusting individual portions of the image. I had fun trying to salvage an image that would otherwise end up on the trash heap.
