The horse is bored, but cute nevertheless. And yes, although I don't have horses I have always liked them.On your own or with the family?
Either way have fun.
Why the long face?

Now that picture is just cool as hell!!
In a way it does not even look like real life. It is a little bit hard to explain, but it has this CGI type effect to it or something.
Thank you!
That's the thing about tilt lenses; apart from other things they can be used to produce a 'toytown' effect.
Cheers
Hugh
Haha, the "toy town" effect was what I was trying to say, but I think CGI fits a little as well.
I really need to start learning about different lenses and what not, however, it probably would not help me much as my iPhone X is my main and only camera...well other than an iPhone 7+, and iPhone 6s. 7+ can still take great pictures, but the iPhone X still beats it out.
I would like to get into photography as more than a hobby, but I know it is super expensive and I would have NO idea where to even start. I know Nikon and Canon cameras are some of the top notch cameras you can buy. I suppose I could probably buy a used one off of eBay or something, but I am not sure if I would even use a DSLR over my iPhone since my iPhone is always with me. I know you can buy add on lenses for the iPhone X, but I have no clue if they are even worth it or not? Any suggestions on any of this would be greatly appreciated!
I'm about 2K's from the coast here, and dang lucky to be pretty close to some exotic and interesting locations. Have just this morning arranged to catch up with a buddy I used to go shooting with, when a group of us from a photo-forum would meet up in town every month or so. He lives on the South coast and reckons he has sussed out some locations that are pretty well unknown and perfect for long-exposures! We'll meet up in a couple of weeks time, so I should have more again soon.I want to live on the coast!
Thanks, Kevin. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks, Karen. I played with a few different POV's here, but now have some other ideas to explore too, minimising the scene, paring things back a bit. Fingers crossed the clouds are good for LE's... I don't want to have to slip in another image of cloud movements in PP to achieve the look I'm after, but might possibly have to.These are great photos Alex! I love the composition.
What a cool way to get around, Ken! Sounds like you were barely able to endure it! Looks more than long enough for a wee Scot to lay down in the back there!Obligatory picture of my ride in the dark... lovely night sky. Might need to view it large to see detail.

Bah, it was rubbish.... I will have to do it again...
You'll get as many answers and opinions as there are days in the year!
First I'd decide what it is you want to do that your iPhone can't give you; I'm no expert but the addition of lenses to the front of a camera phone will only get you so far in certain directions. Then think of a budget. Then look around at the myriad of options (used) that your budget will give you and which take into consideration other factors that you feel are important (size/weight/portability).
There's no single answer - your optimum may lie with a compact camera or a DSLR/mirrorless system camera but virtually any modern camera is capable of good quality capture. The limit is usually the photographer (at least in my case).
Cheers
I think an add on lens for iPhone would be a great let down. They are widely advertised but generally low in quality.Well thank you for that comment. I guess really it would be pointless for me to get a DSLR since my iPhone X is with me at all times basically, and it is light and very easily transportable (fits in your pocket!) vs. a DSLR which is big, and heavier than an iPhone and not as easily transportable. I think the iPhone X takes great pictures, at least for what I use it for.
IF I came across a great deal on a DSLR, I might jump on it...but more than likely not. The iPhone X is just the best for me, I guess.
I was talking about the lenses that you can add on the iPhone X that go on the back over the existing dual camera, not the front TrueDepth camera system. Something like this (which I am not saying I would buy this brand, just using an example) which incidentally does cover the front camera as well:

Apparently it is not even out yet, as they do not have the iPhone X Lens System in their store yet, however, I am sure you get the point. Anyone on here every use something like the olloclip lens system for the 7/7+/8/8+? If so, how do they work and does it make that much of a difference in the quality of the pictures? Is there other brands that are better? Just curious about it, as I could easily spend the money on one of these. Thanks in advance for the help!
Edit: I thought this thing would be pretty cool, but I do not think you would get any truly amazing pictures with it. I think it would just be cool to mess around with.

Edit #2: I guess these lenses are getting great reviews! Just do not know which one I would want to get, haha.

As for your photography predicament, if you started a new thread on the photo forum here, giving your needs and budget, you would get a lot more response and advice.
You may not need to spend that much as a decent compact with zoom lens might cover everything you want and be very portable. Personally I carry a Sony RX100 everywhere as it can produce great shots, and when you are ready to come off auto mode you can play with settings and effects to your hearts content.
