If you take the A41 to New Ferry, don't get on the bypass, and turn down New Ferry Rd. to he waterfront there are some nice old houses facing the water, a promenade and an interesting view of the Rock Ferry oil terminus with the three sisters across the river in the background.
Pretty dismal wet/foggy day here so took your location advice Ian. Used Nik for the conversion since it involved a bit too-much playing with in C1P. Comments always appreciated.

Same place as yesterday's, just a different angle. Since my wife likes one better and I like the other better I'd appreciate comments about which people prefer. And of course suggestions for improvement are always appreciated.
I prefer the first one. Somehow that one works better, balanced. Even though (or because) it's centered around the middle line. Please show us more. I like the snow and solitude.

Cropped out a lot to make this picture of some of the houses near where I live.
Seems more balanced. Feel free to ignore my unqualified comments though.

Like the shot ... REALLY liking those street lamps.

The city designated our neighborhood an historic district about 15 years ago and when they replaced the streetlights with LEDs a little while ago they also replaced the poles with ones that were more (seemingly) period correct. We like them.

Heavy snow going on right now in New England. Wanted to capture something and ended up with this. One of those pics that I like and also find ho-hum at the same time.

Technically, I think it works and is visually interesting. Took it from a shed in my backyard looking back at my house. 18mm lens @ f/4 to get the near doorframe in focus while blurring out the background. Also shot it stopped down, but felt it was more interesting with the background blurred. Even stopped down the background wasn't in sharp focus as the doorframe was really, really close (inches away).

Not sure there is a story here (i.e. why should I care about this). Technically okay pic and possibly visually interesting, but for me it's just lacking that "something" that would make viewers care. Posting it anyway. As with any pics I post, feel free to comment.

I hesitate to comment on other photos because I am not qualified to criticise, but maybe a little colour would help if not originally shot in B&W?
