The bulk carrier Meloi docked next to the Domino's sugar plant in Baltimore on a cold and wintry day.

Went for a wander in a local(ish) country park yesterday and the lake was looking really atmospheric and moody. I managed to successfully cock up all of the shots I took of it for some reason. I must be out of practice. This one was the least terrible and it's still not that great. A very disappointing afternoon photographically.

Pretty dismal wet/foggy day here so took your location advice Ian. Used Nik for the conversion since it involved a bit too-much playing with in C1P. Comments always appreciated.

Glad you enjoyed it ... Both of my grandparents former houses are in New Ferry close to the water. I spent the first five years of my life in one of them before moving to Bebington. The Esplanade (in the other direction from this shot) has some really nice older houses that were very 'posh' for the area.

Cheers :)

Because I'm always looking stuff up ... have you managed an evening or night shot of the Domino's Sugar sign?

Not specifically but I did capture a shot last year that has the sign in the background. Sometime this year I hope to shoot the sign from different vantage points and see what I can come up with. That sign is so iconic around here I've kind of shied away from doing this, you see images of it everywhere.

What is the story here!? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

Nice... but could you not have took a stroll round the corner and taken a shot of all of it? :p

So would I. I just happened to see them while sitting on a tour bus in London, and I had to take a few shots. My guess is they're some sort of Charlie Chaplin group.

Cool. Sometimes the best stories are the ones you imagine when you don't know the real story.

You're right - a few examples of Victorian and Edwardian splendour. Another one from that location. Comments always appreciated.

Yeah I know. I personally would have liked to have seen the church in full but when traveling with the extended family I try not to push it too much ("I know the kids are hungry but give me a little more time to capture a few more pictures of something you don't care about"). :)

Sounds like you rank as low in your house as I do in mine....
