Clatteringshaws Reservoir showcasing nature's contrasting warm and cool colour palette during sunrise on a winter's morning in the Galloway Hills. I love the composition of this "quiet" landscape shot. The deliberate framing of objects, shapes and colours provides a good level of compositional balance and tonal harmony in the scene.

Fuji X-T2 with XF 16-55mm f2.8 lens using LEE Filters 0.9 Neutral Density Hard Graduated Filter and Format Hitech Firecrest 0.9 Neutral Density Solid filter and Firecrest 105mm Polariser.

As a side note
- I was asked here before about producing a video type thing about a shoot and processing. Would anyone be interested in a quick video about about a shot I posted previously? I took a quick iPhone video on location to sort of test the water and whilst I'm not a professional or in any way an expert in landscape photography (or videography) I'll cobble something together if there is enough interest. Be warned, it won't be to the standards of Thomas Heaton, Ben Horne or the likes!

An unusual little succulent from our cactus garden. I reckon it looks more like something you might find in the ocean, rather than on land.

I like the selective focus across the scene, Molly! Was it achieved with a PC lens, Lens-Baby or in post-production?

Thank you! I used the LensBaby Edge 80. :)
Very cool result! The idea of it having that certain element of randomness to it is quite enticing as compared to using tilt on my tilt-shift lens.

Have you seen that LensBaby have just released a set of Macro screw-on lenses, with x1, x2 and x4 times magnification, for under $50? That could be a lot of fun, combining macro with selective focus. :)

I'm not trying to tempt you! ;)

That is so pretty. It looks like blown glass.

Beautiful.

Stunning!
Cheers and thanks very much guys.

I'm lucky to live within a 2 hour drive of such a beautiful sight. I've been there countless times but yesterday was the first time I've captured a shot of the falls that I was happy with. The size and scope of the falls, weird angles, direction of the sun, a lot of mist and crowds of people make it tricky.

I learned yesterday that the best approach is to focus my attention on one aspect and one detail of the falls and don't get caught-up in chasing the rest of it. I was trying to be more Mindful of what I was doing.
