Doesn't seem to be too much wrong with the Kodak.

I know it's a little off topic but... The only Kodak camera I ever had was a 3.2MP point-and-shoot that died 1.1 years after I bought it. It refused to turn on. This was after I had to deal with the battery door latch breaking and the LCD flaking out.

Kodak is just another example of a massive corporation that used to dominate their industry, but became complacent in their lead and were eventually crushed by the nimble innovation of its competitors. They will eventually join Sears/K-mart and GM in the corporate graveyard after struggling through a drawn out, slow, pitiful death.

I took this photo from inside the United States Capital. This is the view from the center of the main rotunda. C&C is welcome, I know the mural is centered in the photograph but I don't know the best way to crop it.

I'm far from as talented as most people on this thread (and one of them is going to post here and make me look foolish in a second :D) but I think in the case of this, the rule of thirds or whatever isn't as important, as everything everything in the image kind of points to the middle. At the very least, I would have to say that its good/I like that everything 'points' to the main 'object' of your shot.

I took this photo about a year ago. What a great concert, and I got some decent photos from my sister's p+s. Comments and criticisms appreciated.

Nice photo.

In general, when you take a picture of someone and they're looking off to the side, you should put the empty space of the photo in front of the person (in the direction where they're looking) as opposed to behind the person. In this case, all of the empty space is behind the person and the viewer is left wondering what the person is looking at.

Beautiful! Now I have to go and shoot some waterfalls.

I don't often go to the extreme like this when processing my photos but I wanted to give this one an old photo type of feel.

In terms of composition, you could say the artist has got there first. As a photograph of an artwork, this is what I'd call a 'record' shot: that is, the point is to highlight somebody else's creativity... not the photographer's. So a straightforward, centred representation looks fine to me...

The rule of thirds isn't a hard-and-fast rule... though it's amazing how many successful pictures conform to it, more or less. IMO, if the rule is 'broken', the pic should look like the photographer did so on purpose... instead of looking like the photographer didn't know what he was doing.

I would crop it square ..

I agree with Father Jack, you should crop it square. That way most of the picture will be the mural will be most of the photo.

Great capture! Too bad about the weed in the water (I find it distracting), but really nice subject isolation with a great sense of motion in the wave. Perfect balance there, IMHO.

Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 'weed' but if you're referring to the fuzzy area in the lower left, that's actually steam or fog that's part of the fountain effects.
