I think a little more interesting background would help. Or at least get the folding chairs out of the shot.
Shot from the 4th July weekend. Anyone else in DC? The smoke from the fireworks pretty much ruined any chance of getting a decent shot!

Wow, just wow. All I can say is get a couple minor model release forms, and start selling this photo. It has selling potential! haha

I like simple and abstract things.
I think it would look even better if the highest part of the building was directly on the right edge and the left would flow in the extreme bottom left corner.

It was my good ol' Nikon 70-200VR f/2.8, shot at 200 mm. The tube rope is a standard 60 ft line, tied to the stern of the boat (rather than midships pylon).

I was in DC for the week as well. I will try to post something tomorrow. Were you out on the bridge by Arlington or up by Iwo Jima Monument? According to some of the residents the view from the Lincoln was great...I guess we lost out.

I'm no photo genius, but that shot is incredible... Looks like one that would be on the front page of a water park's website.
