Looks like a lovely place to get some free eggs... from a range, even. ;)
This is a very nice shot... fortuitously lit (although you were obviously prepared for that, so... maybe not really so fortuitous, but the reward for patience...) :) oh... and very nicely framed.

an early fall...?

More leaf hunting during my forest and streamside trekking with my nifty-fifty in tow.

Hello all, it was this forum that encouraged me to get my first "real" camera, so i'm excited to now participate in this thread. I am very new to this, having only got the camera this weekend, and I am slowly learning about aperture, shutter speed etc and so any C+C is greatly appreciated.

For those interested, the camera is the Olympus E-PL1, attached to the 14-42mm kit zoom lens.

Todays photo is from Lacock in England (straight out of camera, no PP)

Haha. OK, if you insist. The fig tree shot was relatively straightforward. I used only two Speedlites, one on a stand off to the left set to a wide beam and illuminating most of the left face of the old tower. The second light was down low and slightly to the right (just close enough to the camera to be outside the frame). It was set to a more narrow beam and was aimed at the fig leaves. I almost always gel the lights with 1/4 or 1/2 CTO when shooting at dusk; otherwise, the light they produce seems too cold and artificial. The power of the lights is something that really varies and that I can never remember; I usually fiddle with it quite a bit to get the right balance with the ambient light. I used Cybersyncs to trigger the lights.

And now for something completely different:

So what do you do when you head out just before sun down with nothing but a camera and long lens attached to a mono-pod looking for wildlife as you hike all over some hill sides and come to find in the fading light the ONLY thing to photograph is the beautiful landscape across the valley? A telephoto landscape. I really wish I had the tripod and wide lens to do it justice, but this is what I could get.
