My newest photo is from my June trip to the French Alps. I titled it "Sweet Emotion" for reasons that I describe in the caption (click here to read all about it).

We went to a local park, Deep Cut Gardens, for a walk and picnic and got a little history lesson. The park was originally the property of the NYC mafia chief Vito Genovese who bought it in the 1930s and landscaped it to look like an estate he knew back in Italy. The county is running it now and they have gorgeous flower plantings.

A few pics from the park.

I'm leaving Norway tomorrow and I'm pretty sad about it. What a beautiful country. Anyway, here's one from the other day while I was still in Hjørundenfjorden and got caught in a sudden downpour. Probably about 10 min after that last photo I posted was taken. haha. You can see a seagull got caught too - and zooming in you'll see a fishing boat as well. I need to clean this up when I get home with the original file though.

Downpour
very atmospheric - love the tones.

My least favourite of the three of the church.

FWIW I'd put it at No.2 - like the framing provided by the trees and the graveyard leading to the church. Nice and fresh colours with good exposure balance throughout.

The dam in Downtown Prattville, AL. I took this one this evening. The foreground is a little dark but I like that there's still some detail in the sky.
I'd love to see one taken closer to focus on the water - great potential for a number of slow exposure cascades.

Northern Wisconsin over the July 4th weekend.

Like the little highlight on the grass above the boat and the low angle - very restful.

I am an (extremely) amateur astronomer, but I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. It's the Orion Nebula, taken back in December.

Toronto
Nice sky to set the city off. Amazing how much Toronto has grown/developed over the last 10-years or so. Get any Canada Day fireworks shots?

Very nice. Looking forward to some of the fireworks over the city.

Thanks guys. Yes, Toronto is growing at an exponential rate and it's happening vertically. People are now living in condominiums more than 70 storeys above ground. Great views I'm sure but I like to look out my window and see birds sitting in the tree in the backyard.

Fireworks from Canada Day indeed...

I very much like the use of B&W for this shot (and subject). I've been working on car interior shots myself but haven't quite gotten the look I want though. It's not as easy as I thought it might be but I'm going to continue working on it.
B&W makes up for the grot condition of the interior of this one - certainly not concourse. Also adds a gritty feeling that agin takes dirt into account... CPL filter used to see through the window glass.

A lovely shot. I genuinely think you need to find some way to make a portfolio of these images you have been doing. On this one though, maybe just maybe lift the exposure on the steering wheel logo? your call... just an opinion.

Looking at it, you are absolutely right Ken. I'll lift the steering boss a bit and repost to flickr later. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
