My father-in-law built this (he was a builder and dry stone Waller) to show my kids how you can build structures with different sized stones. Taken using portrait mode on my iPhone X at Loch Gruinart on isle of Islay off the west coast of Scotland.

View attachment 772946 Went out looking for the blood moon tonight. Apparently it's tomorrow! So had the wrong lens with me. So played with the iPhone as the sun went down.
Then edited on my iPhone as well, so totally not my usual bag!
Comments always welcome.

Loving the colours in this, AFB. I was looking for the moon last night too, my wife kindly reminded me it was tomorrow, i think she said something like 'it's tomorrow you idiot!!! glad to she hasn't lost her sense of humour;)

For your entertainment...

Just fooling around earlier this evening . Its a daphnia , shot at around 30X (20Xmicroscope + 1.6 for the crop sensor) . 7D hooked up to a 1950's-60's vintage Unitron Microscope via a Pentax M42 adapter and an eBay M42 to EOS converter . No aperture , light controlled via the 'scopes sub-stage diaphragm , Aperture Priority , 1/90 , ISO 800 . The specimen was in a cheap plastic concavity slide and kept moving around so had a tough time focusing . Supposed to rain heavily tomorrow PM so maybe I'll try again , this time using my 5d2 to cut back magnification some so I can get a decent crop . and lowering the water in the slide's well so the critter can't hop around as much .

That's amazing, its not often we get stuff as small as that and it never ceases to amaze me. Lets have some more of those, please. I once magnified a flea, they're scary looking creatures close up.

Here's one from me following the beach theme...

This family was hanging around my work for sometime. Decided to take a portrait. This is something I really like about having a good enough smartphone camera. Impromptu and unplanned for shots can look decent enough for sharing with other. Of course not for professional use but for personal satisfaction.

Comments are always appreciated.

It’s a d**n shame that these fires are so frequent in California. Such a naturally beautiful state, but then this happens.

If you look close enough, you’ll see hot air balloons over our little “wine country.”
Found one! I'd have thought it was a dirty sensor if you hadn't of said! Anyway nice colours.

Is this a natural phenomenon or landscaped?
