I play Drum&Bass! for christ sake!

Ha!

Drum and base? Oh dear!
I know, huh. You'd think that people would have got the message that Dubstep took over from Drum'n'Bass already!

Self confession time: I still play my Happy Hardcore from the early 90's...
Only thing is now I can play it loud and without any distortion, drives the teenagers here nuts!

Nice. Reminds me of a factory I used to work in. All houses there now of course.
Thanks, AFB, it reminded me very much of a factory I worked in when I was in my late teens.

What would have been the administration and management section of the old factory I got to take a squiz in recently.

View attachment 772946 Went out looking for the blood moon tonight. Apparently it's tomorrow! So had the wrong lens with me. So played with the iPhone as the sun went down.
Then edited on my iPhone as well, so totally not my usual bag!
Comments always welcome.
Nicely accomplished image, not garishly oversaturated as most people tend to do when editing on their phones!

I shared a heap of details about capturing the moon with some of my participants yesterday, including how to use the Photographers Ephemeris, to work out the altitude and bearing that it would be at from the start of the eclipse to its finish. We've got a brilliant view of it here, with it happening off to the West, where we have a gulf perfectly placed! I'd expect to see heaps of images coming out of Oz being shared through social media for this one as its going to be the longest lunar eclipse for the entire 21st century! Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to be up for it as I have a full days training tomorrow, and today for my Mental Health Peer-Ambassador role with SANE Australia. So I had to suffice myself with a quick iPhone camera grab of the moon on the way to the meet and greet last night. :(

For your entertainment...

daphnia1a1280.jpg

Just fooling around earlier this evening . Its a daphnia , shot at around 30X (20Xmicroscope + 1.6 for the crop sensor) . 7D hooked up to a 1950's-60's vintage Unitron Microscope via a Pentax M42 adapter and an eBay M42 to EOS converter . No aperture , light controlled via the 'scopes sub-stage diaphragm , Aperture Priority , 1/90 , ISO 800 . The specimen was in a cheap plastic concavity slide and kept moving around so had a tough time focusing . Supposed to rain heavily tomorrow PM so maybe I'll try again , this time using my 5d2 to cut back magnification some so I can get a decent crop . and lowering the water in the slide's well so the critter can't hop around as much .
