ABC Block by ALXPhotog, on Flickr

I pass by this place often. Even though it looks abandoned, it's actually still operational. It was a tough angle, but the only one I could get. A storm was rolling in fast.

Fog over Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.

I visited that place twice in two years, spent three full days riding around the island, and each time it greeted me with with cloudy, rain inducing skies. Oh, the infamous Atlantic weather.

When I was in High School I was a track photographer for a local drag strip. I've been getting back into that lately and this is one of my photos from a Stock and Super Stock race at Pacific Raceway here in Washington. It's not art, but it's fun.

Try shutter priority to get some motion-blur in the wheels. More work panning, but IMO the images make up for it.

Went to Hersheypark, PA over the weekend and visited the Butterfly House in the Hershey Gardens...

Stunningly beautiful capture, Alex! Gorgeous silver tones and a fantastic subject!

Thank you! Spent a while in Lightroom trying to find the right look for that image. I like the black and whites you've been posting, great tones in those images too.

Playing around with the Olympus M.Zuiko 45mm f/1.8.

To my eye, I think it would work better if the in focus keys were the first in the row.
It probably would. I was playing with the lens, though, just trying to get a feel for its close focusing abilities. In general though, I'm not too crazy about images focused on points on the extreme edges of the frame.

Each to their own. Here is mine for the day where the focus is at the very front. The thing that was disappointing on this location was the field was closed off due to nesting ground birds, so you couldn't get a shot at the busiest corner of the field. I still like the lighting in this one as well as the dof.

I do like that image. Very nice color. I live near a national park, so I'm accustomed to planning a trip to a location only to arrive and find it closed off. It's always a bummer!

Maybe not 'art'.... But still looks like a great time to me.

Probably should have entered this one in the the headshot contest instead...
