Saw a guy fishing on the beach last night in Portugal.

Very nice. I might have just taken the shot a tad wider as the sun looks a little tight on the right to my eye, but then what do I know?

I'm not sure if you guys can relate to this or not, but as I do this more and on a daily basis, my editing process changes (I'd like to think for the better). Anyway, here's an image from 3 years ago, retouched recently.

Mostly when I look at my stuff from three years ago (that I was proud of at the time), I decide no matter how much better my editing gets, it's just not worth saving!

Funnily enough, that's what was going on here.

My Lightroom catalogue has 14000+ images in it and that's ridiculous. Most of them are crap. So that's what I'm doing, going through them and deleting stuff that shouldn't exist and turd polishing the ones that are passable.

That one is passable right?

Funnily enough, that's what was going on here.

It is, but to my eye doesn't look like your best work.

Agreed and appreciate the comment. Being three years old and me not knowing what I was doing has a lot to do with that.

Actually, I watched a video on youtube today. It was in regards to going to photography school and whether or not it was beneficial or not. Without going into detail, basically the video suggested if your 'teachers' work was any good, then listen to them. If not, do not.

Sound advice right? The video was great, very down to earth and straight forward. Imagine my disappointment when I checked out the author of the videos portfolio and found it to be ****. :/

Prickly pear in the garden...

I like this and I always hate to offer advice. The upper right corner is pulling my eye away from where it needs to be. Maybe cropping that out?

Mine for today. Still playing around with the D500, this time with an 80-400. Liking the extra reach from the crop sensor.
