It does, the birds seagulls were going crazy that day. We are fully open and the beach was packed so they had plenty of food.
Every time I would see this thing from the sidewalk, at a distance, I would think it was a bottle someone had carelessly left on the post, and kept meaning to go take a better look and remove the item. So yesterday while out with the camera I again noticed the thing and this time finally went over to see just what it was. Not an old leftover bottle at all....but what? A lantern? There are steps not far from this post and it made sense that someone could've added this as a decorative lantern to further assist in lighting the way, alerting the unwary to the steps just ahead. So last evening after nightfall I went out for a look and sure enough, that is what it turned out to be -- a softly-lit, very attractive lantern glowing in the darkness. I took a quick shot with the iPhone of that, but the image is still in the phone.....in the meantime the daytime version:

When I was out walking in the neighborhood where we live, I happened to look up at the sky and saw (what look like) contrails in the sky along with the clouds.

Don't often use the wifes old Kodak Z915 but I needed the longer throw of its zoom for this young woodpecker. While the old CCD sensors were a bit crisper, they did not have great latitude towards underexposure. And I tend to chronically underexpose. Did what I could with it.
